I found a handful of the 20mm TPAD quad MCPCBs the other day from when we moved, but I don't want to play favorites so I think I will list them and put the maximum order quantity at 1 per customer. I will count how many I have them list them and send out notifications at approximately 4 PM MST.
If you do miss out, remember that you can still order from Cutter or wait until we have our new production (hopefully in a few weeks).
Any idea if you’ll be getting some 3000K warm white XP-L2 and XHP50.2 emitters in anytime soon? Preferably high CRI. They have some 80+ stuff on digikey I might get to play in the mean time.
Would also love to see a Convoy X3 host. Everyone needs more 26650 lights!
I do have some 3000K and 6500K XHP50.2 on order, but if you want really good color quality from edge-to-edge in almost any reflector then you don't want the XHP50.2 since it exhibits the same green/brown tint shift around the hot spot and fringes that the XP-G3 does.
In other words, if you don't want a donut hole in a smooth reflector, get the XHP50.2, but if you want color uniformity then get the original XHP50.
I'll have to see about the X3 host---that 26650 form factor used to be popular, but I have had a hard time selling them for the past year or so---they slowed way down, like maybe 10% of what they were 2-3 years ago.
Thanks for the reply. I have a 5000k XP-G3 I got from your shop a while back which I’ve never liked, but I think that’s mostly due to tint. I much prefer warm white, <3500k.
I really like the increase in efficiency with the new generation, so I can probably live with the weird tint shifts if it is a good color.
Have an order with you for some 3000k XP-G3 bare emitters to try out to see if they are any better. Really want to try an XP-L2 also so I got the 4000k version you have up as well.
Sad to hear about 26650 lights, I’ve really liked them since I got my L6 and L2, but can’t see you keeping a stock if they don’t sell.
Possibly. Those are a dang good deal, and the H1A is really really close to what I was going to build anyways, but I could never touch that price point. They are even using the same IC, even though they scratched the markings off LOL (TPS61088).
That board improved that way would sound tempting to me too.
Maybe modding those boards up to that better level could be worthwhile business?
When hardware has the markings scratched off, I always wonder, how long will they keep using the good stuff and is it likely that cheaper parts will be substituted eventually, with the same scratch-off obscuring any later change in what’s being used. Or does scratched-off identification mean they’re using some off-spec, seconds/rejects, of course …
