Videos on How to Measure Lumens and How to detect PWM.

I made a few videos that may interest newer BLF members. One about PWM and one about how to measure lumens. Sorry about the thumbnails… I’m trying to figure out if stuff like that makes a difference in SEO (Search Engine Orientation). Also there’s a little bit of NSFW language in the video, mostly because I’m immature.

How to measure lumens and candela.

Thanks for the informative video. You can also use the stream we all make several times a day to check for PWM.

What they both said !!!

Bump (Because there are always new members joining BLF…)

PeeWM?

Thanks mhanlen. I just tried the faucet method…quick and easy.

I’ll make sure to use that method when testing my next giveaway light

Hey, he walked right into that one.

I have a few one liners, lined up but I’ll try to keep it clean. Thanks guys!

Nice job on this. Didn't realize the "pipe dream" was so popular. For PWM measurement, I've measured it precisely using a clamp meter on a scope - it's the ultimate way to measure PWM frequency, but requires pricey tools and needs access to a LED wire you could clamp around.

This describes a simple way to precisely measure PWM frequency, but not sure it has the resolution we would need: http://hackaday.com/2014/11/26/easy-and-effective-way-to-measure-pwm-without-a-scope/

I'd like to measure up to 20K and not sure the piezo feeding the FFT app on an Android would be capable of that.

I’d like to measure color temperature, precise PWM, and accurate tailcap amperage. But a lot of that requires me to drop a bunch of money and spend hours learning new equipment (in some cases). Looks cool though!
