Flashlight Host and Uncommon Budget Flashlights

That Mikoze MKZ-L730 seems interesting. Any link for that one? Every google search I tried keeps coming up with Lincoln Car references (american auto manufacturer).

What I’d be really excited for is more EDC-sized (no more than 1”/25mm diameter), mod-friendly e-switch hosts. Something with the switch on a separate board that could take the popular 17mm driver designs would be ideal. Not only do e-switches offer more flexible UI options, a mechanical switch is just one more thing to melt when building a crazy FET triple.

+1 w/zak. Something like a moddable MH20

:+1: :+1: Yes. I love side switches, seem to me to be easier to use. But I also like a mech tail switch as a lockout, though a quarter crank of the tail cap will suffice when the threads are anodized.

I really like my MH20 and Olight S15’s because of the sideswitches

I’ve modded an MH20. It’s a bit of a hassle, but a 219C in it makes a lovely beam profile.

I’m thinking more along the lines of the Olight S2, but with the ease of changing drivers we’re used to seeing in Convoys and similar tube lights. I was hoping the Astrolux E02 would be that, but the driver isn’t so easy to swap, the stock MCPCB is defective and the mode spacing is ridiculously terrible.

Thanks freeme.
That looks a lot of product for the price (at least, the best I could make out….google translate couldn’t translate quite enough to help me)

If that ever came available more readily and with easier to read specs, I might jump.

26650 C8 factor - new or old?

Nightwatch XHP70.2

Anyone else not able to translate the links in posts 138 & 142? A few weeks back I followed one of the links and had it translate fine. I did some browsing and found a couple lights that I liked. I placed the order and now I can’t remember how to find these items again. Can anyone offer some direction?

Are you using Google?

I use Chrome and they translate right away on my laptop, but not on the Android version of Chrome .

BTW, be aware that the zoomie 26650 has only a side switch and the tailcap threads are NOT anodized so there is no easy lockout. That made me not want to use it for the truck light I was thinking of . For a while I carried it with the cell reversed to avoid accidental turn on, but that is a PITA. It now sits on a shelf in the shop for occasional use.

Ya, I’m using google. I tried with chrome and safari but from iOS. I also tried with browser set to desktop. Maybe it’s because of iOS? But u did get there before so, hmm… I’ll need to dig out my computer and try it. I need to do some flashing anyway.

By the way, the two lights I ordered are the real deal! I’m trying to get back to the listings so I know what there called and to order a stack of them.

I finally found what I was looking for but now I can’t figure out how I ordered. :person_facepalming:

I think I was somehow able to get the light into the cart of my aliexpress acount but not sure how.

Looks like it could be in the Haikelight lineup

So… I purchased two lights that I found when viewing the taobao link above. I am trying to recall the purchase as I have lost all memory of it(this happens here and there). This one is frustrating me though as I would like to buy another light but I can’t figure out how I did it.

Whatever I did, I somehow transferred the items to my aliexpress account. If I look at my Ali perchase history they are right there. So how did I pay through my aliexpress acount? Any one have any insight? I will note that I didn’t pay any fees or shipping just $22 and some change for a $12 and $10 light.

I have reenacted the purchase a number of ways. They all require signing up for taobao or alipay or joining the site listed above. I couldn’t have used these methods however as I didn’t sign up for any accounts. I checked my email addresses into by trying password recovery but yielded a return of no acount found.

Anyone have any ideas?
