Test/review of GIF ICR18650 12000mAh (Yellow)

GIF ICR18650 12000mAh (Yellow)

Official specifications:

  • Voltage: 3.7V

  • Capacity: 12000mAh

The highest rated capacity I have seen, it is easy to print a high number, but it do not mean the cell has a high capacity.

The curves are not really a surprise, the real capacity is very low and the cell cannot deliver much current.

The cell do not have enough energy to get really warm.

Conclusion

This cell is as expected, a very bad cell with low capacity and not able to supply much current.

Compare to 18650 and other batteries

Wow! 24 grams! That’s a weight of an alkaline AA!!
Half of what modern 18650 weights!
crazy!
The shell must be nearly empty.

Isn’t it called “JIF”?

Performance is very close to this ultrafire: http://lygte-info.dk/review/batteries2012/UltraFire%20SZ18650%209900mAh%20(Yellow)%20UK.html
That i did open: Disassembly of UltraFire 9900mAh 18650 battery

But this cell is a few grams lighter.

Nice. Did you get your money back? :stuck_out_tongue:

lol* this made me smile. i’m guessing the cell is full of white drywall powder with a tiny random potato with a nail & screw stuck in it for voltage inside for that weight.

So you’re saying I should get this one because it is lighter?

HKJ thank you for the now folks can believe that no name chinese 18650 cells need to stay in china.

i “think” that 26650 are much better quality but what ends up happening to 18650 is just criminal.

instead of diesel fuel the chinees should send the crap 18650 cells to north Korea.

Bahaha i retract my statement lol I miss read the amp hours maybe i need glasses lol.

Yes these are rubbish unless you put them in your bug out for when you need to start a fire.

when I look I see closer to 500mah not 2000.

lets get an additional opnion.

Woo Hoo !

HKJ = well done …

12000mAh claim
500mAh delivered

Are we sure there is not a 16340 inside that 18650 ?

Wow , never in a (?? ) , 500mAh , that’s worse than bad , that’s even worse than dumpster bad …
I was so tempted to get these just to see how bad they were …
That would be a 11500mAh fail … or 4.2% of claimed capacity

That would probably be too expensive. I believe that there is a production line making these cells and they have optimized it a bit since I tested the 9900mAh cell.

The worst one i tested in my BT3100 V2 was a red ultrafire that came with a cheap $9 ebay light, it tested at 196 mah, 280 IR internal resistance, and ran for less than 10 minutes on high in the same light, and had the weight of a cork. ( it got recycled in a hurry :stuck_out_tongue:
