What do you think, Deal or No Deal??

I had never heard of this brand before, but after looking over I thought it was pretty good.

So what say you Pocket or Pass??

Hmm. Looks interesting, especially for the price. Dat SOS though… :weary:

Nice entertaining review.
Two things to mention, first the battery led should change to green when fully charged, second the SOS is not shown in the mode group if you stay on say high mode for more than 5 seconds, now your next tap will bring you back to low without going through SOS.
Only when tapped in quick succession will SOS be in the group.
Compared to most budget lights that have SOS and Strobe in the group, this is way nicer.

The hold to strobe function is downright lethal, if that is in my face I am doing whatever to get away from it. which is the purpose of that mode.

Also the output goes above 550 with a better cell.
At $20 with great build and flawless reflector it’s hard to beat.

For the record, I paid full price for both my A1 and A1S, so no corporate shill here.
Just love the flashlights these guys are building for the BLF sector.
Later,

Keith

Good call Keith!

I didn’t even see that. It makes much more sense now.

I did notice that it drops the SOS after the initial power up. I’d just rather have a good safe distance away from it

Thanks a million for the feedback.

Hmmmm…. looks interesting. Where can they be bought?

I like your style, VOB. Somewhat reminds me of FlashMob the way you just roll with it. Very casual and informative.

Keep them coming!

Thanks

Edit

I believe this is the other thread about that light….

I got this one on amazon. I also put links in my youtube descriptions.

Thanks man. I’ve been trying really hard to come up with ways to make it more entertaining and still get all the important info in there.

Thank you for the link travis, that was it.

Thanks VOB, I missed it I guess.

Looks like a really nice light, but blinkies are almost always a dealbreaker for me unless they can completely be locked out.

So I’d give it a resounding yay, except for the UI which makes it a nay.

Nice video of a nice flashlight, the various locations certainly make it more entertaining!

Got it from amazon by misstake.
But its a nice light, specialy for people without 18650s and chargers.

Mine arrived today. This is a nice light…. I am glad you reviewed it VoB. :+1:

I’ll post a few pics up tomorrow. One question I do have…. is the driver glued in? That is the only answer I could come up with.

They also said the A1 S would be available 8 May. $29.95 for it.

Sweet, looking for ward to it.

I’ve not tried to open the head, but glancing at it I can see no indication that epoxy is being used.

First off, I misspoke yesterday… the newer version is A1S and it is rated at 1150 lumens. …. :+1:
Here is a LINK to the lights.

Now moving along…………

Here is how it comes to you……

  • Apparently, according to the box; ThruNite plays some roll in this light.

    .
Charging = Red ………… Finished Charging = Green
  • Mine came off charge at 4.24V…… several hours later settled to 4.23V
    .

    .
Well centered LED………… Driver from spring side.
  • What holds the driver in?? I see no driver retaining ring… Glued probably???
    .

    .
    .
I like it. Thanks for the great video calling attention to this light VOB!!! :+1:

I received an A1S yesterday. I have not had a chance to use it much yet besides in a dark room inside, so I will hold final comparison for a while.

It is basically the same light from what can be seen from the outside except……

  • LED is different
  • It has an “S” on it behind the “A1”
  • The bezel has 5 shallow scallops in it

More later……

Here is the headlamp version.
