Manafont vs. DX and KD?

I’ve also just learned about Manafont and only placed 1 order with so far. I’ve also only done 1 order with KD and just placed my 3rd order with DX. Manafont doesn’t have many parts at all. All my experiences with all 3 have been good (expecting long shipping times). Manafont is generally regarded as being quickest at shipping. See the dealer reviews on here (search) for lists of many others experiences.

DX and KD are a bit slower but usually cheaper.

All are OK because of the dirt cheap prices with free shipping

Have a look at the Dealer Ratings here.

while MF may be rated high on BLF, i usually buy from DX (and during holiday specials: DD) because it's cheaper. DD carries less parts and accessories, and MF even less. to me, MF comes third. DX and DD are on #1, shared first row.

Forget Kaidomain. it's not of interest to flashaholics. (well.. some find it of interest!!)

OH???

And what do you call this 544 post thread.....

Where else but KD do you buy aluminum C8 reflectors for $2.88?

+1 Exactly the way I would rate them.

Double post. Getting used to a new phone.

HELLO? Hello? hello?

I used to get most orderds from DX, but after having the experience of waiting and waiting, I prefer Manafont by far, and nowadays they are having better products related to flashlights than DX.

With KD I have had an intermediate experience, being normally faster than DX but not faster than Manafont.

Each one has its pros and cons, DX has tons of different products, Manafont has more actual flashlights, and Kaidomian is the king with parts such as drivers, lenses and reflectors.

luck of the draw, but for me dx has usually been the cheapest and almost always the slowest. manafont (for me) was quicker in the beginning, but has become nearly as slow as dx, and the last few orders from kd were very fast. right now if all three had the same product at the same price i would choose kd. of course as soon as they mess up it will change again.

Welcome to BLF. Have a read through these threads.

DX: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/93

KD: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/94

Manafont: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/672

I usually buy from DX and Good Luck Buy.

Only 1 order from Manafont that I ordered about a month ago and I still havent got it yet. But its probably because of the busy season for postal services.

I haven't ordered anything from KD yet.

Hi milkyspit, welcome to the BLF !!!

I have found Manafont to be marginally better with the processing and accuracy of my orders.

Please have a look at cnqualitygoods.com for limited supplies, as well as some great prices on hosts and complete torches.

Ric (owner) is a very nice guy, who always makes good on the deal.

Please also consider a custom BLF product for sale, perhaps a new round of 'candles' ?

Milkyspit: name sounds familiar, mtbr?

I've only used MF, scared off of DX for long ship times and KD for other reasons, mainly from mtbr feedback. I have had good experience with MF, also international outdoor store and sbflashlights.

Welcome!

I've never bought from manafont. I have been sucessful with DX and KD. I also have had good luck with Shingbeam and Illumination Supply. Both of those are in the US. They don't have lots of stuff, but I have bought boards and emitters there, just to get them within a few days instead of weeks.

DX & KD have a history of hit or miss. If I am in doubt, I always contact them before buying to verify they have the items and if I do not see the order moving right along, I contact them again and I have had fairly good luck, but tracking is useless. It will arrive before it ever shows it's left HK, most of the time.

in another league entirely. if you want fast shipping, very fast, and customer service second to none, shiningbeam has it. bryan handles most of everything, or probably everything by himself. they don't have nearly as many products, and they may not be as cheap, but you can buy with complete confidence (and no, i am not in any way affiliated).

Thanks guys! This is good information.

Re. ShiningBeam and IlluminationSupply: I've used both and been very happy. I know Craig (owns IlluminationSupply) personally: he's a great guy! I don't know Bryan(?) who owns ShiningBeam, but he's local to me, as he's in NYC and I'm in northern NJ... hold out hopes of meeting him in person one day.

That said, there are times when I need something not on the menu at either site. (Must be my inner flashaholic calling out for more?)

Happy New Year, everybody!

I have recently had a bad experience with manafont. I have been trying to return a faulty charger and it has proved impossible. Their customer service is awful. Been going on for about a month. Sadly, I have used manafont with success in the past. I guess I will go back to using dx and kd and just deal with longer shipping times.

I used to buy many things from Dx,but due to unavalabilty I purchased Trustfire-3T6 from Manafont,It got shipped only after 1day which was super quick, the delivery of the product was less than 15 days which was way quicker than Dx,I opened up the package I can clearly see that it was genuine & not cheap imitation like from other Hk based sellers, but there are some missing orings, scratched glass & bent crown so I complained to Manafont,Audrey replied & after 25days of processing time they sent me all the replacement items in a registered post,I am impressed wih Manafont & will buy more for sure as long as they maintain honest Business Practice.

I've been a long-time shopper from DX, and recently started shopping more from MF since they have a much better record for shipping more quickly. Unfortunately, on my last order from MF, they sent me the wrong item (I ordered a P60 dropin with a Red secondary emitter, but they accidentally shipped me the same dropin, only with the Blue secondary emitter). I have been working with their support staff for a couple of weeks now without satisfaction. Jim has assured me that this will be addressed, but I have not yet received confirmation that the correct drop-in I ordered has been shipped to replace the one I received. I have a second post here I'll be updating regarding this issue once I get an update.

I will add that recently, DX has done a much better job of getting orders shipped out for me, but they have been smaller orders of more common items (some LED drivers and 3D glasses). It seems to help when you make multiple small orders rather than one large order with different types of odd items.

I have never ordered from KD, but will eventually, since they have some good drivers and AR coated lenses I can't get from other sources.

Hey, Scott! Welcome aboard!
