I figured as much as discussion of the 18650 tube being sold out, but its not very clear in the description… I noticed in the S41 description it was made clear.
PS: wish this was for the stainless S41… that thing is sexy
yeah, butt it’s heavy and the knurling is very aggressive, even edgy, and the tubes are tight, some protected and even buttontops will not fit

I dont use or have button top or protected cells, and I like aggressive knurling… sticks to your hand like velcro :+1:
when it’s on level 7 for a few minutes and that heat finally transfers down to the SS
you might wish for a quicker release from that velcro

I preordered this as I like the form/function of the S41/S41S.
Not entirely sure about the feasibility of the switch being in the hottest part of the light as I have experienced the power of this lil pocket heater.
Probably very usable at its 6 lower levels so the switch is welcome for those.
I’m also interested in the variety of metal heads.
We’ll see how the Al head handles the heat.

I ended up with the XPG3 after a lot of back and forth between that and the Nichia… Was a hard choice for sure, but too good a deal to not get one. Maybe a S41S deal will pop up thats too good to pass up and I will grab that in Nichia… (hinthint)

I went back and forth between the much higher output xpg3 and the nichia. So at this price I opted to get both. I’m not a fan of the rings and color bands of the xpg3, but outside it really doesn’t matter. I too wasn’t fully convinced from the listing that the 18650 tube wasn’t included, just that the battery wasn’t.
I don’t have any 18350 IMR cells, so what going to be good? I’m sure Mte Windyfire cells would be great, but those aren’t currently in stock. Also, it’s usually safest be to get button top since I don’t know if the light as physical polarity protection, but will flat tops work as well?
