CRX Carbon Fibre MT-G2 Flashlight

Continuing with the 22mm carbon fibre tube, I fired this MT-G2 single cell rechargeable flashlight together this morning.

Utilizing the KD H1-A boost driver, charging circuit from an X2R and an AWT 18500 HD cell.
I did not modify the driver due to the construction of the light. Highest mode can be operated for 1:30 until the head area is uncomfortable to hold in 25°C ambient temp, other modes are fine :+1:

Very nice CRX. What are your favourite items to use in a light?

Hiya mate.,

Sorry, like, but what an uggggggly torch….

Uhhh Uhh Gerrrrr Leeeee

I mean, it must have hit - and I mean a fully capitalised and emboldened HIT - every branch, twig AND leaf when it fell all the way out of the Ugly Tree.

It probably landed face first in an ugly puddle too, taking ugly to the max.

Now I’m offering an exclusive service…

In fact it’s more of a vocation. A mission n’est-ce pas???..…

To rid the world of ugly torches.

You know my address.

Happy to help prevent this ugliness from spreading.

Paul

:innocent:

Really, is there a need for that? if you don’t like it fair enough but there is no need to be rude about someones hand made work.
I don’t know about CRX, but just reading that annoyed me! (and I didn’t even make it)
Apologies in advance if I am missing some sort of extremely dry humour.

Apology accepted…….
:stuck_out_tongue:

Then I am indeed sorry :person_facepalming: if I was nearer I’d get you a scrumpy - we have plenty down yer!

I think you missed the meaning of this bit

Cheers David

Thanks mate, highest mode can be operated for around 1:30 until the chunk of brass heats up and the head area is uncomfortable to hold in 25°C ambient temp, other lower modes are fine for longer durations.

.

It really depends, sometimes I just use things I find which fit together like the 50g brass weight, I like when that happens. Brass tube is nice to work with and the carbon fibre is easy to drill & file.
I love epoxies, jbweld, magnets and arctic thermal products, not too keen on soldering, I like reflowing though.
What I don’t like is enlarging reflector aperture holes for emitters such as the MT-G2, got a 50/ 50 success rate with that

.

Cool, I’ve posted the light and debited your account ending in *78 for£350*

Thanks,

.

It’s ok, he’s English, we’re used to it

.

It would seem so…. again, I’m sorry for that. Had the best of intentions though. I hope my apology is ok. :+1:
How stupid can one feel……? Very lol! Doh!

It’s cool, thanks for what you said anyway. Sometimes difficult to convey humour over the net with so many different cultures etc and using only text, probably a lot of people don’t get my humour either.

What’s next, politics or religion? :smiling_imp:

this is very cool.
I can’t imagine how many hours spent to build this flashlight

Around four

Wow, that’s quick, and amazing.

Thanks, everything flowed well, there’s not really much to it especially making it a sealed unit and I didn’t have to do much to the heatsink except drill & polish the top. Even the reflector behaved when I opened the hole up
The powerbank version took about six hours.

There’s not “getting” the humor and then there’s just not that funny.

ahh subjectivity…

The first thing that comes to mind is

FLOOD

Indeed.

The beam? It’s quite nice going from a bright spot fading out to the spill with no discernable divisions but being the MT-G2 in a small deep OP reflector at fairly low current it’s not a mega thrower. It’s the beautiful tint and charging convenience we’re after with this one.
I might attempt a picture later.

I’m totally wounded……

Sorry if my GSOH didn’t gel with some of you…… as Stevi said, I’m English, north-eastern English to be exact, and up here on the cruel, cold North Sea coast we learn how to take the p*ss out of each other from a very early age.

Plus, in terms of “English”, being a Blaydonite, I’m only some 57 miles shy of being a Scot myself!!!

I’m probably the luckiest guy on this forum in that, due to his recent generous GAW I proudly own a CRX modded torch as well as a full-blown copper-tube CrXeation - and he knows just how much I love that (still in the freshly stitched pocket buddy)

So…. £350 for a CF-CRX? A snip at twice the price!!

and Goose…… No worries mate

Therefore, here is my Universal English translation of what I originally wrote.

WOW!!!
