it's 99.9% likely a timer not a heat sensor..my zlt sc600 has a 5 minute step down and to reactivate that higher setting you have to turn it off and back on again..doesn't matter how hot it is it's just timed to step down at a certain time..the dry is probably the same way..have to turn it off then on again..what i'm curious is if you cycle through med and low does it go to high again and omit the turbo setting?
I'm pretty sure the DRY is timer-based. There are, however, some budget drivers starting to appear with temp regulation, as well as one triple drop-in.
You guys talking about how many days to receive it, I'm envious! Don't know if it's due to our custom or due to our postal system being so messy, but the average time to arrive here in Italy is usually 4 to 6 weeks, and sometime worse...
Mine is the version with turbo 20s step down to high. U can immediately switch to turbo again with a half click once it step down. No need to off and on again. Did it 3 times straight. No issue
No need, once step down, a single half click brings it back to turbo.the DRY mode arrangements of the step-down version is from low-med-high- turbo-low. from high mode, the next click will be turbo.well, this is what I experienced and with this arrangement it should be correct too.I did it with 3 step-down straight. Always need just a single click to bring it to turbo.
I thought that has been done thorughly, > 1000 posts in several threads here and CPF. The DRY is one of the most measured light around here and also the most talked about. It is not a new light. Some love it, some hate it.
The main selling point is that the new driver is 800Hz PWM. It is still visible but more than enough for use in reality. The light is already very optimised especially for flashaholic's use (literally any tint imaginable), and now with this special low price. I am too lazy to swap out all the drivers so i 'll skip the drivers. Seriously 247Hz PWM is definitely usable. If you have the DRY in one hand and the TR-J12 in the other hand, it is enough to be orgasmic. :)
Instead of spending 24 bucks on 4 new drivers, i spent it on 3 new U2. Will need to find time to change out them LEDs. :)
I'll post some pictures and impressions - others have already and will soon do a better job w/ both - but I gotta tell somebody about this thing, and I don't know other flashaholics...nobody else wants to here about it guys LOL
Maybe we should keep the reviews of this new dry in its own thread. whoever reviews it first everyone just add to it. Like 2100 said its been done thoroughly.
