Review: Manker E02 (AAA, L shaped, XP-G3 200+ Lumens)

Thank for review budda

Looks like will be ny second l shaped after armytek tiara

Manker, do you have a timeline for the release of the AA version?

Haha, yeah, maybe eventually…
Ordered a grey one with XP-G3 yesterday.

got my red XP-G3 today, very small form factor, almost hard to handle with the top switch, might prefer side switch on this

I love the UI as it goes from L-M-H-M-L very nice, much better than L-M-H-L-M-H, they all should do this

I absolutely HATE the clip, it’s very substantial and holds well
butt my requirement on this style light is to clip onto my shirt pocket with the light sitting in my pocket & the light shining outward
I prefer the light to be secured inside my pocket. I would never require a reversible feature to mount on my cap shining straight down.

If the clip could be shortened to enable it to swivel it around to the front of the light, then this could be a very useful tool.

Where are you located? Mine has not even made it into the US yet, but it has only been a tad over 2 weeks.

As far as the clip goes, it looks like the clip can be rotated roughly 180 degrees easily, it sounds like the U shaped part of the clip interferes with the head? Sorry to hear that, as it does reduce the versatility of the light. I assume when you talk about shortening the clip, it is this U shaped part you are meaning? Maybe if enough people contact Manker about this they will redesign this clip It does not seem like there is any reason for the U shaped portion to be as long as it is . . .

I’m in a no-train, no-airline, gotta-be-going-there-place on the western coast of USA
I am happy tho that I got this so quick, it’s not typical.

interesting, I am in coastal So Cal.

Manker said the E02 can use a 10440 Review: Manker E02 (AAA, L shaped, XP-G3 200+ Lumens) - #29 by Mankerlight

Has anyone tried it?

Just got my red Nichia last night. Great little light!

Tint is slightly warmer than my Manker-made Astrolux A01, so it’s definitely in 4000K territory.

Loving the LMHML mode and the fact that it ramps up or down during brightness mode change, not the usual abrupt, discrete jump.

That sounds cool, I have never heard of this.
Is this available on other lights?

rats, mine still has not made it to the US, much less to my house.

Meteor M43. I thought it had something to do with preventing overshoot with boost drivers. Perhaps not specifically required for such a small light, but for the sake of coolness?

Got mine and I like it, need to find a headstrap that fits.

The Olight S1R does it.
I asked Tom E in the NarsilM Thread to implement it for max. brightness. Toykeeper mentioned a driver which can do it.
You can look there

For the headband I think I sew one out of elastic bands. It’s only a band around the head and a small loop for the tube.

Several of the newer Olight flashlights do it during the mode change to High/Turbo and turning off from the higher modes. I can’t recall the exact models that do, but I mentioned it in my reviews. It is a pleasant little ‘feature’, but I don’t know if it’s intentional or not.

Still a bit off-topic, has anyone heard any more details about the AA version of the Manker E02? The AAA seems solid, but AA would be more suitable for my use.

Regarding a headstrap, found this: SKILHUNT HB1 Verstellbare abnehmbare Taschenlampe Headbrand Sale - Banggood Deutschland sold out-arrival notice-arrival notice

Yeah, it’s branded SkilHunt, but it’s pretty simple and cheap enough. Probably be a little loose with the E02 (mine hasn’t arrived yet to test). I’ll post more once I have the light. Actually ordered the headband a while back to use as a spare. Prefer the elastic loop to the silicone doohickies most lights come with.

Then again, if you already have an elastic headband, a small strip of double sided velcro, like the ones IT guys use for cable wrapping would make a decent loop for the light, IMO.

Have you plan to make 18650 headlamp? There is lack of 18650 headlamp with hicri on the market so you may be first.

ToyKeeper’s Bistro firmware used on the BLF X6 and popular for DIY lights ramps between levels. Lights with ring dimmers usually have a soft start, probably so they don’t overshoot the desired brightness while reading the position of the dimmer control.
