MTN Electronics: LEDs - Batteries - Lights - Chargers - Hosts - Drivers - Components - 1-Stop-US Source

That would be a wonderful thing!! I love X6 hosts. It may be a pia for him though. Everyone that I’ve ever purchased from Gearbest had all of the other parts put in the same bag with the reflector so I’m sure you know how that story ends…luckily I mostly use the hosts for triples. It just makes me wonder if Gearbest does the crappy shipping or if they were shipped to Gearbest from Eagle Eye that way. I see that RMM often has marked down convoy hosts due to scratches and dings, hopefully he’s not having the same issue with any of the Jaxman hosts since he took them on. If he asks, Eagle Eye may ship them a specified way so not to damage anything.

Is there any way to define a word-boundary? Eg,

  • \bprotected\b

  • “protected”

  • +protected

etc.?

I tried that and it didn’t work.

Searching for “protection circuit” (without quotes) and checking the “search description” box finds most of the protected cells but misses one or two

Aaaaaand, the 14500 windyfires are out of stock already. :zipper_mouth_face: I wasn’t fast enough.

Sorry about that. Windyfire did not have sufficient stock to fill my order, so they sent what they had in stock with the remainder to ship soon.

No worries, I took too long to order. I’m just thankful that you carry them!

Any chance you might offer different FW for eswitch drivers?

Hoping to buy 8 button top non protected 18650GA’s; are they hard to get right now?

We can get them but unfortunately someone bought all of our stock, so we have to wait a few weeks until the next shipment comes.

Richard, my last XHP50.2 build was a FET +6 +1 and I set a PWM of 210 on my FET for turbo and that works great! Might be able to go 220 and get just a little more.

I got my JAXMAN E2L host last week from RMM and it’s in perfect condition. Not a nick or scratch. The threads needed lube, but I’m very happy with it.

Yeah, I’ve purchased 3 from him so far and they’ve been in excellent condition…as are all of the hosts that I buy from mtn.

Cool. That's good to know. Maybe a custom mode group for XHP50.2?

Just a couple of under exposed beam shots to show the difference between the TPAD quad MCPCB and the MTN Quad MCPCB both with Carclo 10621 optics

TPAD (left) MTN (right)

I really like the round beam profile of the MTN MCPCB, thank you for making these MCPCB’s available Richard :+1:

How is the beam different with the mcpcb using the same optic? Are the tpads not centered properly?

Thanks Khas! I worked on these for several months before ordering them, going through several iterations and ordering different boards for testing on FR4 before committing to the MCPCB run. To be fair, I didn't get the offset idea myself---the DSCHE quad MCPCBs also had offset angled LEDs. I didn't realize fully why until I got the TPAD MCPCBs and saw the beam pattern.

The pads are rotated slightly so that the square corona of one emitter does not line up with the others.

If you take 3 overlapping squares and rotate them slightly you get a more round shape.

Here is an example using 4 squares. (closest pic I could find)

Ah, ok that makes sense.

Very nice!! I’ve got two BLF X5s that’ll be here tomorrow and some Russian copper waiting to go in them. I’ll be ordering a couple of the quad boards…

Are these the X6 hosts that some are talking about and hoping might show up, something like this one …?

I bought this built light from some guy who was living here in WA. but then to my recollection, which is horrible, and it’s been since about early last year when I bought this light from this fella, and he said something about needing cash, and moving, and something to do with lawyers, something like that, but don’t quote me, but he seemed like a really nice guy and so I bought the light and he sure did sell me one darn nice light it’s without a doubt one of my favorites and I sure have thought many times how it would be so nice to get some of these unbranded hosts available in Mt.s… host dept.,

Sure wish I could remember that fellas name… Hum
I carry this light a lot, every other day at least, and it has taken a beating but still the ano has held up nice,
I do use some Birtchwood Casey black to fix the scuffs now and then, but it is one awesome light,

I really do think the guy I bought this light from and who also claimed to have built it himself sure had to really know what he was doing, OR BSn me for sure,
The ano on this host is strong, the knurling is excellent, these would be a nice addition to the host department,
I think he called this light something like “The Other”… beats me, but the price was great for what I got, throws like crazy with just the perfect bit of spill, sure hope those lawyers never caught up with him…

Eagle Eye sells those direct for $22 a pair, that’s right, the hosts are $11 each direct from the manufacturer. And they’re still made with the excellent Type III ano, come with everything but the star, emitter and driver. Probably my favorite light, I know I’ve built a bunch of em since they came out a few years ago. Only have about 17 now, must be slipping…
