Q8, PMS SEND TO THOSE WITH ISSUES BLF soda can light

Yes.

Sorry for the misinterpretation and false hope that i created by spreading around that everyone received their Q8 sample, since Del does not have his latest sample yet.
My bad
I think i am going sitting in to the corner and cry now

So everything is ready to go? Springs have been agreed upon and the firmware has been updated. I don’t think there where any other issues with these prototypes or am I missing something? So when PilotDog has played around with his light an DEL receives his and both don’t find any issues it’s a go right?

Ahhhhh - no word back bout the springs...

No argh on my part, Barry didn’t click are all
Springs how we want +
Manual 4 pages fine +
Manual in 4 pages means not able to store in tail +/-
Last is just Joechina making abbew cheat sheet for people to print and fold
Sorry will forward it now

Good idea… “false hope” might be contagious. :open_mouth: … :person_facepalming: …. :stuck_out_tongue:

.
BUT, on the other hand; who cares?? Honest mistake my friend.

Carry on………

Isn’t that enough on topic talk?

dude, please give it a rest and don’t try to antagonize people

Yes we do have some on topic talk, yay!

Another on topic question;

Can anyone explain why you would need more then 1 Q8?

I was thinking to subscribe for another one, just because it will be such a great and good light (just because it is possible!), but i have only 2 hands, so what are people with more then 2 going to do with it?

Give as a present for friends or relatives?

Hoping for some additional information!

give them away as gifts.

Once in awhile, the Miller! OK, we had it, now how do we pass the time? How about we just glare at each other through the silence?

ROTFL! I loved the levity Blinker but not everyone will.

Stop smiling! You’re not here to enjoy yourselves! (according to that POM supervisor written of above somewhere, BTW, that’s almost a direct quote from her)

Hey, I know! We bought an Amazon Fire TV stick yesterday. I was told “Buy the stick and there are all sorts of shows and movies available, you can probably drop Netflix.”. Well, yes and no, mostly no. There are shows available, but it’s one show of a 3 season tv show. I didn’t see any free movies of any worth. But Netflix is costing me $30+ every month and the good movies mostly don’t stream but are only on DVD. I’m testing a 30 day trial of Amazon Prime for $11/month and the streaming movies look to be good ones. Plus the smart TV was the pits with Netflix. The movies would take forever to load. If paused they might never resume. I had no love affair with it. The stick makes Netflix operate as good with streaming movies as they run on my computer. So keep Amazon Prime or Netflix, the stick makes our “smart” TV finally fulfill it’s promise. Oh, YouTube! That would be the thousands of free movies (videos). I saw no others. It is nice to see youtube videos on the big screen though.

Did I miss something? Or not?

I’m considering getting a Roku for local TV stations when the atmosphere doesn’t cooperate. Anyone with any Roku experience? I have a few more HDMI ports that I can use if Roku will get my wife her game shows and us our local news and weather when we want it instead of when the atmosphere tells us we can have it. No I won’t pay for cable; they want far too many $ monthly for junk channels that I’ll never watch.

Gifts, and different mods or emitters, most likely.

Well, I want one to use, one as a spare or in case the wife wants one, and one for a brother who I want to give one to as a sort of payment for something he says he intends to do. But he’ll get cells and a charger as well.

I’m also doubting in getting a 2nd one just for modding and leave 1 as stock. But another $40 + extra cells is pushing it for my budget. I guess I’ll wait until I have one in my hands and then decide if it’s useful to get a 2nd one.

Roku - I don’t have one, but a friend of mine has had one since they first came out and has upgraded to newer versions as they became available. He loves the Roku and recommends it to everyone. I just don’t watch TV, so a bit of Netflix and a movie rental place down the street keep me covered. Occasionally, I go to the local cinema to see something “on the big screen”.

I’m signed up for 3, one because I have to, one to mod and one for my daughter/son-in-law as I’ve already sort of created the bug in their household. As far at the “mod” one goes, it might just get put away for a while and see what shakes with technology in the near future, upgrade it possibly as things progress. I don’t really have a soup can light. I know, right? But I bought an SRK clone as well as an M6 from Tom and gave them to my son-in-law and bro-in-law. I have an M6 I modified way back when, and I have a small Fandyfire Rook which has the appearance of a SRK but smaller, it’s got an SBT-70 in it now with Narsil so that’s about as close as I am to this light. Hoping I will have money for it when that time comes, might not actually be able to buy all 3, what with everything else going on these days. (I’ve gotten a $930 hospital bill over the past 2 months for my arm/neck mess and haven’t even had surgery yet!)

So much going on lately in BLF, so little monies to spread around…

Some of you have noticed I’m not around much anymore. However I was in this from the beginning so I’m honored to have been sent a sample.

First impressions are very good. I don’t own a lot of “premium” brand lights, but I have had my hands on a few for review purposes, and this feels and looks just as high quality as any of them. You really are getting superb value for the money in this groupbuy.

The things I like most:

1. The anodization is very consistent all over my sample. Even inside the driver compartment it looks great.

2. The driver bay is finished better than most “budget” lights. We are getting a thick brass battery contact ring, plus retaining screws (which I like better than a retaining ring). I especially like that my “Q8” vias made it into the final driver.

3. Narsil. It may be too much programming for a mainline manufacturer to release, but for an enthusiast’s light it’s perfect. Ramping mode is easy to pick up for a beginner and provides all the function a muggle could ever want, but if you want to spend the time you can go in and change almost everything to however you want it.

Although I have not been directly involved in one before, we all know there have been hiccups with groupbuys in the past. That said, I have been very impressed with Thorfire’s attentiveness and consistency in this long process. I may not log in here much, but I read emails between the team several times per week. I think everyone on the giant list of buyers will be thrilled when they finally have these lights in hand.

I’ll try to pay attention and answer any questions y’all have for me about my sample, though this thread really does move fast.

Finally here is the Q8 with one of the big reasons for my inactivity, Winston.

One stock
Yeah that is all one needs lighting anything till +/- 200 meters, yet I want a second, maybe for modding, idk but I am heavily invested here so not the right person to ask

Love what you wrote about the Q8 Pilotdog68. You need to love Winston. Carry on. They aren’t pups forever. Dogs are some of the very best “people” and they depart far too soon.
