:+1: ā¦. My apologies sparky. I was thinking only of the GAās and totally left out the test of the important facts about most all other flat tops. :person_facepalming:
Againā¦ my apologies. I shall now put on the Dunce Hat & sit myself in the corner the remainder of the night for the incorrect info I gaveā¦ that in all likelyhood could create confusionā¦ā¦ :person_facepalming: ā¦
Thank goodness Tom caught it quickly & posted the correct info.
Thats okay and not the cells i got for the Q8, i have a set of Sonyās VTC6 and a Set of the brown LGās ( HG2 ), both flat top style i will have to do something about.
I am not quite sure if the GAs will be good without something done to them, as they have no button the spring should squease them less tight, so maybe a thud on the end cap would make connection go.
Then again as i understand the Q8 that shouldent matter if one or two cells momentarily get disconnected.
Man i cant wait to get my hands on this thing, just ordered a new sleeping bag tonight, so aside for a pice of tarp i am ready to go play survivalist in the forests of Denmark.
Forrestās that will not be so dark when i am around, with or without the Q8
Doh, just read about the switch to 3 LEDs, thats not happening is it? I certainly would vote against it but looks like I didnāt check back and see it in time to voteā¦
Modders have made smart modifications to the tail PCB so the tail can be used to load cells
The Boss1 had nubs and a good alignment where other companies go for a rotating tail PCB
Iām number 340 on the list.
Someone from work wants a stupidly bright light and I think will qualify.
Can I be added again so I get another one?
Thanks
I am happy that the light is āfinishedā!
But now that the luminus sst-40 is out (with real low Vf) i find it really a pity that we did not go for the dualfoodprint leadboard. Is there a plan for a GB in place for a dual leadboard?
You can make a plan, I once had a quote from Kerui Electronics for about 8 euro per board, 50 minimum. The contact is Sundy and she is on BLF under the name āleo ouā. The boards that they make seem high quality (my N119 boards come from there).
The advantages of a Dual footprint quad LED copper DTP LED board are that you can use all kind of LEDs in this light. At the moment you can only use LEDs that use a XP footprint like XPL, Nichia 309/319A, Nichia 219c. . ā¦ But no XM-L LEDs no SST-40 no XHP50.2 . . .
The new ledboard would allow you to use this LEDs. Some (with different Voltage) would require a driver change and spring PCB mod, some like XPL2, XM-L, SST-40 and some more would only require a LED change. And you may ask why would someone do this?
Many reasons! To get a more prefered color temperatur, or LEDs with a higher CRI, or more output, better throw . . .
Simple it gives you an easy option to mod your light.
