MTN Electronics: LEDs - Batteries - Lights - Chargers - Hosts - Drivers - Components - 1-Stop-US Source

Hey maybe EE will do you right Richard, I’ve never gotten a bad host from them, I just really like a unbranded look like this light I got from you, but sorry to hear of the hassles you went through but unbranded lights is for no particular really, I suppose it’s just that blacked out looked to me, and goes with my tinted windows in my car nice also, a no name light I guess, but I sure wouldn’t be opposed of buying hosts with an eagle on the side and from YOUR shop though, I hate waiting for a month or so to get anything from China, and Utah is really handy for us WA folks…

I remember that light now. That was about 15 months ago---had already moved a long time by then. I didn't have those red MTN-17DDm drivers until February 2016.

Oh, well thought you were moving or about to move or something going somewhere but the only thing I do know for sure is that you sure do make a really fantastic light.
This light has a fantastic throw, the spill is just perfect, it doesn’t ever seem to over heat, and the tint is a beauty.
This light is always in my EDC carry bag, I just love this light a lot Richard and can’t thank you enough for letting me get to have it.

Yes I do believe it was about early last year when I bought it, have been a very happy guy ever since and I have taken it completely apart to try and duplicate your build and so that is why I am always trying to find a good quality unbranded host, haven’t had any luck in the unbranded hosts so will most likely use the EE hosts, the $11 hosts in lots of two I believe, Dales mention,
I just got their new X9 and have their older X6 and I’m very happy with their products so might just get over the unbranded thinking and buy their hosts,

However Richard if your going to perhaps try and see about stocking a host like this in your shop well then I would surly rather wait until you have them for sale and keep the money in the U.S. or in your wallet whichever is most convenient for you of course…

Hi, just wondering if the Convoy M1 host will be back in stock sometime? Thanks!

Hi,

I expect that it will be around 2 weeks before we receive more M1 / M2 hosts. Thanks!

Great! I’ll be waiting patiently for my first build!

Hey Richard any chance of you getting some of these Aspire INR18350 batteries?

Hi, another newb question for ya :stuck_out_tongue: : Do LED orders come with spacers?

Maybe---I need to see what their MOQ and shipping conditions are. Have any of you tried them? Pricing?

No, they do not. Just the bare LED or LED+MCPCB. Spacer should come with the host as there are a number of different reflector LED opening sizes.

The review thread by HKJ is here: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/45941, and djozz received two orders of them already. His Opus says over 1100 mAh capacity, and in testing on a triple, djozz said he got 8.8A here: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/45941/71.

I got two orders of 5 each in, nothing received yet, but 1st order was just 4 days ago, but it is in USPS tracking.

They do sound legit so far. I'd suspect we'll be seeing more of these under other branding.

I’d definitely add a couple of those new 18350s to my next order. I don’t have enough 18350 lights to justify a separate order, but it’d still be nice to have some. It’s a big upgrade from ~650 to ~1150 mAh.

I have 8 of these new Aspire 18350’s on the way, have no idea how fast they are though. The plan is to use them in the X6 I just built with the triple XHP-50.2’s I got from you this past week. On 2 of the dark purple Efests this light pulls 17.22A for 10,660.5 lumens. Not sure how anything can better that but if the Aspire cell is what it’s rumored to be it’ll at the very least double the run time.

I am in favor of you stocking these as well Richard, you know me, I tend to be a bit hard on the poor wee light cells.

I’d just like to say I was on your site looking for those Aspire 18350s today too. Ended up getting the windyfires instead though. I came this thread just to mention that, but it looks like half the forum beat me to it!

Richard, you were right… as usual! The Nichia 319 emitters work great on your new Quad board.
Just built a custom heat sink/spacer for an Convoy M1 and these emitters pull 18.22A for 4591.95 lumens on an Efest 3000mAh cell… amazing!

I had inquired with Shenzhen Skey Technology (distributor for aspire) on pricing. They were coming out to about $2 each. Shipping is a pain unless you’re ordering on a more retailer scale. Might want to reach out to them - http://www.skeychina.com

Richard, love the new quad boards! The beam is really more rounded!!! It does seem that I have more trouble getting the parts to settle in at the correct location with this board, not sure why. Any idea? Hot plate reflows for the leds and hot air for the jumpers. The leds just would not settle on the pads. Otherwise great product!

Probably heating either to fast or too slowly, or not the correct amount of paste. These pads center way better than the TPAD quad due to the overflows on the side pads and rounded overflow on the center pads. I always fought the TPAD quads, but these center up nicely.

I do not have to touch the LEDs at all on these (with good pads and correct amount of paste and correct reflow profile you shouldn't have to ever touch the LEDs during reflow).

I sent some messages to see about the Aspires. If they are really 1000+ mAh then that's a huge capacity jump and well worth having.

I just put in a big order this afternoon, if you start carrying the aspire 18350s amd restock the 26350s I’m gonna go broke!
