My latest pocket-rocket is a Sunwayman C10r purchased on clearance from Illumn and then heavily modded by me:
Emitter: Triple XPL HI (2x5000K and 1x4000K)
Driver Wires: 22 AWG silicone
Electronic Switch wire: 26 AWG Teflon
Driver: 17mm FET driver from MtnElectronics with moppydrv e-switch firmware.
Battery spring bypass wire: None. The modded light has no battery springs. Instead flat copper disks fixed to each end of the battery tube serve as the contacts. This is somewhat similar to how the battery tube in the DQG Tiny III and IV work but without as much range. There is almost no empty space in the battery compartment when the battery is installed.
Battery type: Efest purple 1000mAh IMR 18500 (flat top). The unmodded light used 1xCR123. I bored out the battery tube so it would fit a wider 18500 and freed up extra space in the head for the longer cell by mounting the new driver ahead of the LED platform in the head. This is made possible because the triple optic is thinner than the original aluminum reflector. The switch mechanism is now mounted in the side of the battery compartment. The battery slides below the switch. In my experience IMR 18500 cells provide far more power than any IMR 16340 or 18350. On a fresh cell, output resembles that of a triple powered by a Samsung 30Q 18650 cell, though voltage declines faster.
Optic: Carclo 10507
The entire light is about 77mm long. It would be possible to make a shorter light using the same internals, but this host has some wasted space at the tail (screw mounting for camera tripod) and head (inset bezel)
CRX , my hat down (and I do love my hat !) , you are something !!! Imagination and patience , skills and aesthetic sense ... Your collection is one of the best I ever seen ! Congrats !
I don’t have all the lights as some have been given away or were other peoples but here is most of what I have to hand.
.
I not long ago foam lined this plastic case for keeping most of my titanium & steel EDC lights convenient
.
Others are dotted around the place stuck to radiators, fridges, on shelves, under shelves, cupboards etc.
I keep a couple in my magnetic handy box I made 25 years ago at school . The DQG XHP50 gets used a lot, one of my favorites
