I try NOT to order from China at all. Probably ordered from various dealers in China about 7 or 8 times in Five years. Sometimes the deals are hard to pass up and I take a risk!
I have ordered from GB twice. The first time it took 5 weeks to get here. I just ordered 4 X VTC6 in a flash sale about 10 days ago. I try not to think about the time it will take[at least for now] and hope they arrive. That is the most important part.
Other orders from China included a few Ebay dealers, Banggood and HKE. They all arrived within 2 weeks.
I just ordered some Aspire 18350 from China on June 8th and they arrived in New York yesterday :+1: I should have them Wednesday or Thursday.
I would say that GB is my least favorite out of ALL the aforementioned.
I love my Hometown dealer the best! Liionwholsale, also love Illumns, can not go wrong with either of them.
Just saying — unless you are trying to look like a fanboy, your getting MOST of your orders has nothing to do with someone else not getting theirs. Or Gearbest’s boorish and uncalled for behavior after I filed a complaint with PP about my never-to-arrive order.
If you listen to them and keep waiting or give them a video or whatever, eventually they will give you your refund. And if you can’t fulfill their request, such as provide a video, just be honest and tell them so. If you are reasonable, they will be reasonable as well. Gearbest has some tricks and slides of hand like many other retailers, but their support people are not out to rip off the buyer. Some small stores are above reproach, like mtnelectronics and illum.mits best to buy from them when you can but if you understand the gearbest refund process and trust what they say, you will have a good experience and more money in your pocket.
So far 4(edit: of about 50?) orders of mine did not come. Gearbest eventually refunded all of them. Then 2 of the four actually showed up.
I understand that two peoples experiences can be different so I will urge any readers to concider my opinion as based off of my experience alone.
Hey, that’s all I did. Everyone and his grandmother has way more good experiences than bad. Even with missing/bungled orders, people get it sorted out. None of us got blown off, let alone banned.
Out of a dozen or more orders, I have only received valid tracking info on 3.
The rest I could not get any accurate or meaningful tracking info.
Perhaps they just botched my one account? I don’t know.
It seems that once you have a few problems….if you don’t just sit back and enjoy the ride…they blacklist you somehow.
Asking for information (even politely) is apparently frowned upon on the backend (theirs)
The last order was about two weeks late having paid for express shipping but more importantly was not what I ordered. It was a lesser product.
This is inexcusable.
I’m cutting my losses and moving on. I do believe they had a change in management and it’s been bad for me ever since.
I bought Haikelite MT07 from GB recently arrived in 7 working days via DHL and i only need to pay $3.85 for shipping. awesome!
Never had problem with them in the past excellent records in my book lets hope it stays that way.
Out of numerous orders I had one light arrive DOA & one light had a problematic driver. Both ’problems’ were solved within 24 hours or less.
No hassle, no run around, no endless emails or pictures required. Customer service was a pleasure to deal with also.
They just fixed the problem and gave me some bonus points to for “my trouble” they said.
GearBest gets a 5 of 5 Star Rating from me. A+ …. 100% … :+1:
Their support is crap, you can’t get decent answers within an acceptable amount of time. And they always use standard reply’s (copy and past). So if you don’t have any problems they are great. But please pray you don’t have to contact their support. I would recommend everybody to pay with PayPal as an extra backup when shit hits the fan.
I buyed lots of times for the last two years. They sell nice mobile accesories and android TV Boxes. They have GREAT prices and free or very low shipping cost. Never had a problem all the orders i made.
Hello GEARBEST. I do hope you read this thread. I ordered 4 x LiitoKala, 26650 cells and shipped them to a skybox address in the USA. (Shipping to me, is unreliable and quite often takes two months to arrive.) I received a shipping notice for the cells within two days and was thoroughly impressed! However, a few days later, I received another shipping notice for cells and only then, realized that Gearbest shipped one cell, then one cell... This is total bullshit for me because EVERY PACKAGE IS CHARGED TAX,DUTIES AND HANDLING FEES. I can easily expect to pay an additional $20 US for these two cells. }P *IS THERE ANY WAY TO REQUEST THAT GEARBEST SHIPS ALL ITEMS (FROM THE SAME WAREHOUSE) TOGETHER??* :TIRED:
Until my lights I bought from Gearbest arrive (din’t know what I was thinking, could’ve bought directly from Convoy Aliexpress store) I’m hoping they don’t come like the “fake” ones I saw threads about. The threads are old, and at least one of the lights didn’t exist back then (Clear C8), but I hope the S2+ doesn’t come with an aluminium pill or something like it
EDIT:
I’ve got them today and they match exactly everything posted on those lights, so everything with my order was fine
They certainly not what they were even 6-8 months ago. 2 orders, placed same day, both show “delivered” but no proof of delivery. They told me to take it up with the carrier (Fedex) who says…tada, DELIVERED. I have no proof what address they actually went to and fedex won’t give any info because I’m not the shipper. Gearbest’s comment “you should have bought insurance”. Sorry, I already pay extra for faster shipping and a tracking number, now they want yet ANOTHER fee on top of that or they play the ‘he said, she said’ game until you just give up. This is after being a frequent customer for at least a couple years.
Shipment before that was damage “send us a video” “I don’t own a video camera and am not about to buy one” “send a video” Ok, I shoot on on my phone but hey, its too large to fit their tiny upload window. Took me hours to find a utility to down sample and crop the stupid video to get a refund on a $30 item. My time is worth more than that.
They purposely do not answer the customer service questions you ask, just cut and paste a boilerplate response to drag out the process in the hope you will completely give up. This has been for the last 3-4 months or so. I get an average of 2-3 packages a day, most from China. I know what the shipping is like and they have dropped the ball big time. I won’t recommend them and, in fact, direct people to the competition now because of their bad attitudes.
A few days after purchasing them I was thinking that $20 for 4 X VTC6 had to have a catch. My guess was that they would have a good chance of being OLD STOCK.
They were. I received them on 6.26.2017 and the DOB was 6.22.2016. 1Y 4D old! I contacted gearbest and gave them pictures, how to unscramble the code, ect. First they offered me a $5 refund. I said that is NOT acceptable. So they ended up giving me $10. Basically I got One year old VTC6 for $2.50 each. No complaints there, I just did not like their deception and suggested to them that they need to let you customer know that they are selling OLD STOCK and not try to pass them as brand new batteries.
The average Joe would not know any better.Would not know anything about the codes[date]
All and all I give them credit for working with me and giving me half my money back,on the other hand I discredit them for their deception.
I would never buy from them again based on their deception and the fact that I spent more than $10 worth of my time to get a refund from them,it was several emails b/4 the issue was resolved.
