Has any of you ever got an e-mail from DX recently with the subject 'Order Received, Awaiting Payment Confirmation,' after ordering by credit card? In the e-mail, it even has instructions below:

1. Click this button to log in to My Orders.
2. Select the order you want to pay for.
3. Click the "Return to Checkout" button under Payment Method.
You can then finish paying with PayPal or select another payment method

However, when I click on it, it shows on their website that the Payment Result for this order was 'success,' already. I have tried to contact DX using their online chat but nobody ever answers. Do I have to worry about my order?

BTW, I also noticed that their order # just got a lot longer than a previous order. It looks like they might have changed their ordering system recently.

They answer the chat. Just keep the chat window open. may take 10, 15, 60, or 90mins until someone's ..etc.. The other question is: Is the chat helpful? ( and i wont comment on that. i am chill for DD, not for DX )

Yep, they have a new ordering system. My old orders all got **cked up. The new orders arrived in a timely fashion, and typically with online pre-ship photos.

I also received that dubious refund confirmation from DX. Very sneaky. I had to file dispute because the 45 days window will lapse.

Is this ploy just recently implemented by DX? Because why are hearing about this just now?

what leelou can dou kreisler can dou tou

what the heck, i've filed a paypal dispute (valid until Feb 5th). for a 2.00$ refund lmao. feeling bad now.

Did you also receive a misleading email like this?

i guess you were addressing to someone else with a track history? but let me tell you, i have JUST received the same ****ing email in my gmail inbox wtf!!?!

there's no actual refund by paypal (i've checked my account), and there's no confirmation email by paypal.

hey guys you know what? i think this is the price for us opening a paypal dispute. Once we do so, the automatic DX machinery is set in motion and we receive automated DX emails which nullify the paypal claim, and paypal thinks that DX did its parts and solved the dispute.

My case is a little trickier because i am asking for a partial refund: a refund for a unshipped item. Now we have CNY, and .. game over until after the festivities.

I opened a complaint in the DX Forum and had a dozen responses in the next hour.

Interestingly, within 4 hours, a DX employee posted that my Payment had been refunded to Paypal. At I was able to verify it on the Paypal site.

Hi, i ordered flashlight and and it's 10 days after they got a payment. I am sick of this slow shit, I want to cancel order and get my money back. is there any option that i can get refund? package is not even sent jet.

I've never had any problems with refunds from DX.

But I've never filed a PayPal dispute against them, maybe they still like me for that. :)

Seriously though, I never even have to wait more than two days after cancelling an order before I see the refund in my PayPal account. It's usually within minutes from their refund mail. They're faster with refunds than with any other type of customer service, in my experience.

Aistis, you should cancel your order... and hope you get a refund. If you don't get a refund, see this post:

I rarely order from dx but did in Dec. Ordered 3 items but only got 2. The order does NOT appear in my account but does exist. Contacted cs with photo's.

Might take a while. email of order says 3 items were sent

How do I find my order on DX?

This post is for your information. I am bored, so lemme share this info. One of my pending DX shipments arrived yesterday. Now only 2 DX left (see my sig).

status details for this order:
ordered: 2011-12-26

dispatched: 2011-12-28 (they call it "shipped")

stamped: 2012-01-11 (the actual date on the postal stamp/sticker)

received: 2012-01-24 (yesterday!)

pre-ship photo available: yes

customer status with this transaction: satisfied
Do you see the time difference between "shipped" and actual "stamped"? crazy huh.

I always just log into my account

I once recvd a partial shipment. Few items were not in stock. After a while, say 30 days, I sent in a support request via their support site.

I can never ever, even now, after all 5 or so times I opened a new support request, remember how to open a support request for items that are not yet shipped or received but paid for. It's somewhere in their list of categories. No idea where, each time I have to discover all over again.

So, after another 3 days or so

they say something like: those are still not available, would you like a refund?
I say: can you tell me if and when they will become available?
they: not sure.
I: ok, i prefer if you can keep that money for my future payments, but if not, a refund is fine.
they: you are refunded.

And the ticket is now closed.

Each back and forth via a support ticket takes about 1-2 days for them to respond, initial can take up to 4 days.

I wasn't overly eager to go check about that refund for about 2 weeks or so, but once I finally checked, there it was, visible in paypal as a partial refund on that same purchase. It was little over $9 of worth. No idea how much time passed since they sent notice and actually made the refund.

So far I consider that acceptable. I prepared myself with ample patience before ordering my first ever item from any Chinese shop, so this falls well within my expectations.

And DX actually was a first shop I tried out. I ordered a $2.73 butane jet lighter. After that reached me I moved to flashlights. More 'spensive.

One of my pending DX shipments arrived today in the late afternoon wtf. It contained as expected 3 items. Now only 1 DX left (see my sig).

status details for this order:
ordered: 2011-12-03

dispatched: 2011-12-15 (they call it "shipped"; partial shipment though!)

stamped: 2011-12-31 (the actual date on the postal stamp/sticker)

received: 2012-01-27

pre-ship photo available: no

customer status with this transaction: rather dissatisfied. the whole order took almost ~2.0 months and i didnt receive a full shipment nor have i received my partial refund yet. and the 2pack of LiIon cells was not shrink-wrapped.
They had split the order (originally consisting of 4 items) and never shipped the missing item (silicone oil lube) because it was/is out of stock. I tried to cancel the unshipped item and also filed a paypal dispute (and after some conversation with DX cs closed it) but havent received the refund yet.

i havent checked the integrity of the received items (lenses for the Romisen RC-29a do they fit are they scratched? unprotected 10440's why were they not shipped in a shrink wrap wtf? i didnt order a free battery case haha. the glow in the dark GITD o-rings dont glow much (they are junk in this respect) but look pretty on my Xeno E03 because they fit well and are green. really green. Genuine GITD parts are white in sun light. These rubber rings are green at sun light. They do glow .. but it's ridiculous. anyway i like them a lot because i want my Xeno to look pretty *during the day*), and i will comment in the respective threads (GITD thread, romisen thread, 10440 thread) by tomorrow.

need to check the quality of the items first!

got the refund today. the reason WHY i didnt get the refund earlier was indeed the opening of the paypal dispute. i was looking for a PARTIAL REFUND but paypal's system can process only FULL REFUNDS IN CASE OF A DISPUTE.

this situation was explained to me by chelsea (wtf is chelsea?? yah i know hehe).

as soon as i had closed the dispute (which was earlier today), chelsea processed the partial refund to paypal (and i've checked my paypal balance and can confirm it).

So my advice for DX orders goes like this:

If DX splits the order because some item is out of stock, then cancel the unshipped item immediately. Use DX Customer Service Express for this purpose, it's the fastest and safest way to get things processed. Opening a paypal dispute PRIOR TO following this route is NOT A GOOD IDEA because it will halt all current&future processes and immobilize DX customer service.

If you really cant get your problem resolved through this safe route (and you've got ~5 weeks of interaction with them) and are nearing the 45-days limit of paypal dispute, then okay, go ahead and open a paypal dispute.

But the most important point is: Cancel unshipped items right away. In my case, i waited 2 months for them to get the da*n "silicone lube oil for flashlights" back in stock. And they never got it. During that time i could have bought the stuff from elsewhere (superlube from ebay, or nextorch silicone grease, or etc.). What a waste of time ... only to get some flashlight lube at a low price!!

In comparison, DD (summer) is a little more helpful to provide details when an item will be back in stock again for sure. (For example in the case of the Klarus P1A, which so many of us ordered in December when it was out of stock.)

DD is great, and DX is also great.

Shilling!!!!! :D

First post. Hello to all. Guess I was lucky with my one purchase from them. At least I got it. Bought a CREE light from them. The 1st time I opened it up to change the battery part of the spring broke off and fell onto the desk. I know they are cheap lights but for 17 bucks you would have thought it would be a bit sturdier. Took the needle nose pliers and stretched out the spring so it would make contact with the battery again.

I have not written them off but there sure are a lot of negative posts about them. I'll take it all as a proceed with caution. :)

Welcome to BLF, Liveitloud! I read these DD, DX, KD threads with some amusement. I don't quite understand the need to buy things for a (usually) small savings if it means the aggravation of waiting untold weeks for orders to arrive. If there is a problem with an order, the real nightmare begins. In many cases, the same item can be found from a reputable US supplier and if you search around for a discount code (ala CPF), price is comparable but it ships fast and warranty claims are well, pretty normal. To each his own....

I hear you. My only purchase would be in the case of it not being available elsewhere and wanting it. Too much aggravation. Thanks for the welcome!
