A Budget Headlamp if I've Seen One!

great video bro!

gotta say tho: you apparently need to be checking the shed not the garden for varmints.

another great ā€œflopping around slopping around dropping aroundā€ clip in there!

Your video has a great shot of the clouds moving. Well done. Headlamp looks nice.

Grabbed two. Thanks!! Keeping my fingers crossed that the heatsinking is good  (EDIT: Chickened out and cancelled order. Not enough $$ to spare. New MTB is priority  )

The notches in the bezel hint that it may be removable. This would still be a good value after replacing the emitter with a neutral XP-L.

Nice light. Nothing objectionable and a good price. Howā€™s the modability? (driver and LED access)

My modded H03 headlamp is just about perfect for me. I replaced the driver with a FET driver with ramping FW that I can ramp up and down. The ability to go up or down in brightness is nice, not many stock lights can do it. This wowtac looks like a nice host so if itā€™s modable I might pick one up.

Yep, the clouds did look great. I also loved the cows silhouetted up on top of the hill too.

Yeah, or you could just get the A2S version that already has the XP-L; if the tint suits you.

Iā€™ve recently started hating cold tints since I tried out some LED headlights that were especially cold. The tint was only part of the problem. A horrible beam pattern was what really killed it for me, but it was so bad that the hate spilled over to cold tints. Now I donā€™t want anything over 5000K unless itā€™s a hardcore thrower, and even then Iā€™d still prefer a neutral tint.

Understoodā€¦ā€¦

Oops, I was referring to car headlights. Beam pattern always matters, and especially so when you depend on it to avoid driving your old vehicle into deer at high speeds.

$19.99 complete with a battery thatā€™s USB rechargeable. What a bargain!

Other than Amazon is there anywhere else I can order this Wowtac headlamp from? Preferably China source.

yeah nice vid
Edit, snipped, will not derail your thread, sorry, posted it here:

I did not notice that in the videoā€¦nice catch, Robert!

I just received two of these lights . They are solid feeling , well functioning lights .
As a bonus , the pocket clip from my BLF A6 works well on this light . I suspect that any of the various clips made for the Convoy ā€˜Sā€™ series lights will also fit .

Thanks for the heads up , vestureofblood .

Sigh- just bought a Boruit RJ-02 based on this thread, seems perfect for running at night. I seem to be buying something flashlight related about once a week or so now, wife is starting to complain, if only she knew how much is still en-routeā€¦.

+1 :money_mouth_face:

I was never really into headlamps, I had a cheap 4 buck special from Sportsmanā€™s Guide that was pretty much worthless. Then I came across VOBā€™s video of this light and did a 180, bought the headlamp, tried it on - comfortable, works great! Now Iā€™m praying for a snowstorm (havenā€™t used the snowblower in two years),a power outage, anything so that I can put it through its paces.

Thanks VOB!!

Iā€™ve got three cheapo headlights, the forehead ā€œRichardā€ type, and two smaller 3x AAA lights. Two main issues; comfortable to wear, and suitable for the task. The head dongle type have too much wiggle to suit me if my head is moving, too much momentum and leverage by sticking out. The other comfort issue is weight, I donā€™t care for weight on the front of my head, vs battery in the back or wired to a pocket or belt. Minor comfort issue is sweat management, some make it worse, some make it better.

For a lot of uses any headlight works well maybe replacing or supplementing 3 or 4 fixed lights. Headlights with a small red LED are great for giving just enough light to safely walk in the dark without disturbing others or losing night vision.

My current go to headlamp is one of the cheap, $5 shipped type of 3x AAA, 5 mode (red, hi, med, low, stb). Feels cheap, not remotely water resistant, a bit bulky with battery up front, headstrap what you would expect for the price, but works well enough I am not motivated to upgrade.

Matt,

Great Video as always!

2 questions if you can find out from your contact @ Wowtac;
Will there be a Neutral White version available of this A2 as they have in the A2s version?
And can they run a special discount for purchase of 2 or more for gifting?
Or any further discount as this headlamp has been at the $19.99 price point since it came out.

I own the A1 and A1s and love them both, so this headlamp has been on my radar for quite some time, just need a reason to push the launch button:)
Thanks!
Later
