Banggood - Is it time to ban them from the forum?

Banggood is alright, not counting the s42 fiasco. I’ve had problems with sellers on Amazon tho, which Amazon quickly refunded my money.

presterjohn, maybe elaborate a bit on your problems, who knows we can help you fix it while you wait for BG to resolve it

Ha ha ha. What’s the return policy on that and how many lumens does it have  ?

LMAO

!!

QFT

Banggood has always refunded me or resent me items (or broken parts) for every problem I ever had Even just recently, I discovered some bad Q5 clones I ordered from them back in May and after talking with them and sending pics they refunded me.

I am a regular customer of Banggood, their prices are very competitive, sometimes even better than TaoBao (if buying with coupon). Their service so far so good, they have never fail me before, not even once (same like Fasttech, Kaidomain, GearBest :+1: ). I made claims before with other sites like Aliexpress, eBay, TaoBao, Qoo10, etc.

Since these websites mostly come with customer protection rules in different ways, it is our responsible to notify or make claim to them if dispute happens, or just avoid buying from them next round.

Guys some of you have clearly misread my post reference the six month cut off. As I stated. I have been requesting this torch for months. I did not wait until the six months expiry date. They offered me a refund twice but I was pushing for delivery of what was ordered.

another reason I prefer 10440 EDC :open_mouth:

I’ve placed about 10 orders with Banggood, and only had one that didn’t show up. They reshipped the order with tracking within a day of my notifying them, and I got it within a week. Personally I don’t see what good “banning” them would do - would that mean no discussions of their deals, prices, special flashlights they sell such as the BLF A6? I’d rather be able to see the good and bad about a dealer or product up front.

I picked up two of the OL A01s, not realizing that they swapped to a NMM, so what I was hoping to be good EDC keychain lights, mine sits on my desk unused and my wifes sits in her purse… I knew hers would go unused, but she does have a light to use if/when she needs it I guess…

Next up was the S42. bad battery tube, bad USB cover, bad UI. Granted, the UI was kind of described on the listing, I found it confusing and misleading…

Now I have $65 in lights sitting on my desk, basically unusable.

I want that Hieklite(?) mtg2 light… have one in my cart but have not pulled the trigger because, well… fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, fool me 3 times and I am just an F’n idiot.

I did order a few parts, an S2+ 18350 tube, a couple lighted switch PCBs and a couple drivers. I ordered this before the s42 came in. The tube and one switch I tried works. Was a little disappointed that it was the single LED model switch but wasnt stated if it was a single or dual LED model.

I sent them video of the A01 in operation, I explained the situation and the issue of NMM, and they just keep saying “light turns on in next mode every time, so there is no memory. Factory says thats how it works and they did not change it”. Now I do not really want to return the OL lights, but I do not want to use them. I CAN NOT STAND NEXT MODE MEMORY!

I would like a proper driver replacement or a replacement head with the proper driver, but I can guarantee that will not happen. I am about 2 emails away from starting a PP dispute.

I had even asked to get a light cheaper than the two A01s instead, because I know that they will not be able to offer an original driver…

Now I know sometimes with budget lights, crap happens and drivers change. But a light like the A01, $20 for a keychain light is, IMO, over the price point of a budget light where you just say “oh well, Ill mod it or use it for parts I guess”. You should get what was expected when ordering a $20 key chain light.

There are also a few other astrolux lights I really want in the collection which sucks because until I can get this resolved in an appropriate manner, I will not be ordering from BG.

Think I am expecting too much? Is asking for another light that cost less than the two A01s because I know the replacement driver/head will be the same and dont want to waste my or their time? I personally do not think so and think it would be the easiest/best resolution.

The s42, I know I will get the proper parts to fix eventually, but that was kind of just a tipping point for my patience with BG. Said I would get my parts mailed next week, its been 12 days. Been emailing them about the problem with the A01s and they just keep saying “it turns on in next mode every time, so no memory”, even though they are saying themselves it is NMM…

Didja try The Pencil Trick™?

I didnt yet. Dont want to tear into them until I am certain of the outcome.

Recently I bought a lightning charging cable from BangGood. It was DOA. I got a reply from their CS within 24h. They asked me to ship the broken cable back and they would pay the shipping cost. I agreed and they immediately resent the cable, quicker than me sending back to them. New one arrived in about 10 days and was good.

I've had good service this far from BangGood. Even a couple of small issues such as one of my Imalent DN35's, the spring was too short. They contacted the manufacturer and had another one shipped to me.

My wife and I have a small but growing E-commerce business now and I can tell you, shipping from China is a logistical nightmare.

So instead of taking the refund you kept arguing with them to try to get your way? Why?

They either did not have more of them in stock and that’s why they’re refunding you, or were giving you the opportunity to take the refund and reorder it.

Instead you wasted 6 months and eventually got neither, and then come on the forum and ask for them to be banned because YOU had a bad experience with them due to your refusal of a refund…………

Not sure where that is going? Are you suspecting I am a mole…? I assure you I am not, never have been and never will be on the vendors side. My history would show that

I have backups upon backups, but for some reason I feel a need to make them go good on the bad Old Lumens lights that I bought and they changed specs with no notice and are trying to pass them off as the same…

If there are moles, maybe they will see my post and BG will go good on the OL lights I got that they changed specs on. Maybe I am expecting too much? I personally do not think so.

I do want my OL a01s. I want it as a constant reminder of the ol guy that came and basically changed BLF. Anyone who was here when he came would agree, he changed BLF.

I left BLF for quite some time. Had a lot of crap that happened in my life, including my son dying last year, and left all forums for a while. Came back and saw Justin had passed and literally shed a tear or two. Found the OL A01, and did some quick searching and found it was a nicha 219b with no memory, and Mrs Lumens would receive a profit off each. After ordering I noticed talk of BG not going good on the deal. Then getting the light I realized it was not as expected with the NMM.
I was expecting a nice light to throw on my keychain with no memory, and Justins wife would get compensated for his name. Got a light that does not match the original specs and not sure if his wife is getting proper compensation…

Maybe I am getting too personal with this light and expecting too much? Personally, I do not think so. They make a light in Old Lumens name, it should be the same from start of production to end of production.

I don’t even use Banggood.
I’m just reading the story from OP’s side and it seems like a bunch of stubbornness and irrational hate due to his own mistakes.

Seriously, if a cheap chinese retailer like BG offers a refund, because clearly there is a reason they aren’t sending another one, instead of arguing with them for SIX MONTHS to resend the item, you take the refund.
Especially if it has been more than 30 days.
This is just common sense online shopping practices.

Actually, I think that is the issue, that it’s too personal.

Break it down:

  • You order a light, expecting it to be OLish

  • It’s not. For whatever reason, the spex changed.

  • You want an OL light.

  • They just plain don’t have any, anywhere.

  • They offer you a refund.

  • You say no, you want an OL light instead.

  • Rinse, repeat.

  • The clock runs out, it’s beyond the scope of a refund.

  • Acto them, it’s settled, you were being stubborn, now you’re not entitled to anything

  • Acto you, it’s not settled, as you’re still waiting for a nonexistent light.

And here we are…

’Bout sums it up?
