Imalent DX80 32000 lumen monster

3000 is a bit low for a light that size. I’m hopefully it could be more like 6k

Thats some serious lumens. Im 100% sure you wont be able to hold it (bare hands) after 1 mins at those outputs.

There is just physically not enough material to transfer that much heat. I created a 21000lm light bar and it has a huge aluminium heatsink of 300x100x50mm and that hit temps of 57 degrees after 10 mins, then stabilises at that.
Now something that small would only be a 30 second burst at max until it hits above 50 degrees C. None the less, I would want one haha

You guys keep forgetting Imalent has a pretty bad track record for QC. That said, pretty impressive output if it comes close to it’s specs.

Yeah… cheating roaster using it….

Interesting. I got a total of three rudeness flags for my first and fifth post. Imalent fanboys?

Your posts were definitely not rude. Based on what you said, I should have gotten one too because I wouldn’t touch an Imalent branded flashlight with a ten foot pole from my own bad experience with them.

I hope that it can throw at least like dt70, and pleeeeease let there be good mode spacing

HR20 wasn’t it? Yeah I haven’t forgotten that either… I do like Imalent’s offering; they just have a different vibe. I can only hope they truly have improved QC. I mean they sell a lot of lights I guess, and the more defective products they sell, the more upset customers contact Banggood and Gearbest. Those vendors will complain to Imalent etc. No one benefits from defective products… We’ll just have to be patient to see what’s going to happen. It’s part of the flashaholic’s life and charm I guess.

I forget the model but it was the headlamp that flickered. Also, the end with the USB and brightness control fell off on mine without dropping it. What a piece of garbage.

D

As a consumer grade flashlight they are okay. I would never pay full price for an Imalent if i can score a HR20 for around 30 USD that is still a good buy.

After taking a few apart they are not that great when compared to say Nitecore or Olight but still want to charge the same and or more. You can see where they save money i had LED wires come of from just tightening the bezel. I am sure if i left it alone it may have been okay for a while unless i dropped it.

Lumen numbers i guess they like to state theoretical numbers. So maybe this light will have 8 XHP70s.

Rudeness abused :expressionless:

+1 I’ll bet it was a sales rep here on BLF

Interesting you mention a sales rep. If there were an Imalent sales rep, just like some vendors have here, isn’t that going to be in the benefit for us? If we receive a funky light we can get some assistance smoothing the warranty process? Look at what happened to Franz with his Klarus G30… Just wondering… And come on, that DX80 is a monster, and the discount price will be really, really good…

Scroll down to the third image, they can’t even use their own beamshot

Cheers David

^ Excellent find. Are you by any chance the same David as from the link?

I can’t comment on their quality/reliability, but I do like how Imalent attempts to make their high output flashlight beams more balanced by emphasizing throw. Like the DT70 with its dedomed/sliced XHP70s.

It looks like the head has enough room to hold the mass that would be needed to sink lots of heat for a spell.

Fuel supply? Four 18650 high drain? Or more capacity than that?

Emitter configuration? Eight 70.2?

I eagerly await throw and other specs.

QC/QA: Going Gear recently started carrying Imalent. It would be great if Marshall could do a video and provide his opinion.
