Also, I hope that Richard gets some of the Aspire cells in. I ordered a purple Efest, but with so much less capacity compared to the Aspire, I wonder if it’s going to be relegated to another light down the road.

Oh, interesting, so I just bought a few lights with tubes at Richards, so those aren’t 350 tubes? But 500 tubes.? Or probably are 18350 tubes but just pics of tubes and I will know what they will look like when they arrive… ha ha ha… I don’t really care, they all look good to me.

I am fairly darn sure Richard has an order for the Aspire cells and it’s been awhile since I read that, so I have already gotten my cells directly from Aspire and I think his should be very close to arrival.
Off to Hanks, thanks again

PreOrder for gray 219C ordered, thanks again Richard for the excellent service past couple years. Hope all had a safe and fun 4th of July.

PS Green was out of stock.

I may have been partly responsible for that. :stuck_out_tongue:

What would be the throw difference between the XP-L HI and 219C? I imagine efficiency and heat would be better with an XP-L.

What does triple click do?

Triple click does batt voltage but Hank may want me to take it out.

I'm looking it over now. Need a few days.

4x is turbo only, where you have to hold the switch down to be on.

It's an awesome EDC for sure.

6X is lockout.

Hi Tom. Could u please comment on the switch. This wouldn’t be like the one on the BTU PK26, would it?

thanks Tom….

How low is the moonlight mode?

This I like very much; same as M43. :+1:

The switch is one of the nicest "feel" switches I've used, and, of course, I've used a lot of them. I'm dying to tear it down to see what it's using, but it's soft as I personally feel switches should be, easy to find the switch in the dark without looking because of the bump out, doesn't protrude to avoid accidental activation. Also the soft activation is great for ramping UI's.

Not bullet proof though. I had my cell phone and the D4 in the same pocket, and the D4 did go on without any lockout. It was on low, but still...

It has really really nice square threads, and a very small turn of the cap to lockout mechanically.

Boy, if they can keep up the quality, reliability in the batch builds, this is a really great deal. Sorry, didn't get to test output yet. Think this is a XP-G2 light I have as well - gotta re-check.

Heat is kind of crazy of course...

Ahhh, moonlight is simply the lowest ramp setting. It's not a really low moon but this is intentional. It's a nice usable moon. Of course there will be variation based on the LED's chosen.

Since I didn't attempt a tear down, I'm a little tentative bout the SS retaining ring on the switch. No insets for a tool, so not sure how to get it out - threaded or fitted, etc. Think NiteCore's I've seen were press fit, then you could use a knife blade to remove them for example. If threaded, maybe tight against a rubber surface may work...

So, I guess 1/2 lumen range? Less?

Do you know of a clip?

Oh boy... Don't think it's sub 1 lumen. It's between 5 mA and 10 mA I believe.

Haven't heard anything bout a clip but I can ask.

Tom, it sounds like you are working with Hank on the FW? Is it a variation of Narsil? And what is the driver hardware, like is it a FET driver?

Please tell me there is a pocket clip for it? I don’t want to have to space it out for a solarforce if it fits. This is like the perfect UI and would replace my Zebralights!

Yes and yes. ATtiny85, classic FET+1. Easy simple design. Dunno all the details yet. I've been using it with a SANYO GA to back off a bit on the power/amps.

For the pocket clip, clearly on the 18650 tube there's an indent for a clip, though it looks narrow, actually the same indent and styling on both ends of the tube, but the tube is not reversible. There are many more threads on the tail end than the head.

I'll see if I can find a clip that fits.

I gave up buying flashlights several months ago, thankfully. It was a hobby/addiction for around 4 years or so. I had finally reached a point where I wasn’t interested in buying any more lights. Not sure what the secret was as I had tried many, many, times.

this offering is enticing :stuck_out_tongue:

just looked at the date I joined and it’s worse than I thought …. some 7 years.

Thanks for sharing some of the details Tom.

I added the deep pocket clip that Richard sells to my pre-order in hopes that it’ll fit this one. It’s more narrow than the one of my Astrolux S1 and I think I night be able to make it work. We shall see later this month. If not, I’ll use it on a Convoy light.

With the small size of this light, I was wondering if certain cells (30Q, VTC6 and others) might not be absolutely necessary. If it’s a scorcher at max lumens, a GA (which I use in almost all of my lights) might be plenty good.

I still ordered a few high drain cells though… :person_facepalming:

Don’t feel bad PBWilson for buying a couple cells,
You didn’t know that you should never use already used cells in a new light…?
