I’ve been playing with these cheap Nitecore Tube clones from eBay recently, and made a MELD firmware version for white-only lights with permanent rechargeable cells (no ability to power cycle). After the microcontroller swap and a few electrical improvements, these $3 keychain lights become pretty awesome. Here’s a video of the whole process:
