[Review]Lumintop Ant SS

So, Lumintop asked me to review their new side-click AAA flashlight : ANT
I received a stainless steel version, but this model is also available in brass.

But first, pics !

So the Ant is a 1*AAA (no 10440 compatible) with a side switch and a pocket clip.
The button is also made of SS, and does not rattle at all.
In fact, the finish is really great and gives a high-end feel to this little gem.

The knurling is perfectly executed, gives a good grip without being agressive.
There are some fins in the head to help dissipating the heat and it adds a nice touch to the design.

Because there are two grooves, you can reverse the clip to attach it to a baseball cap. It allows you to transform it into an headlamp.

There is a slot int the tail to add a 1,5*5mm tritium tube of your choice. Or you can buy an Ant with the tritium pre-installed.

The UI is really simple and IMHO great for a simple EDC
A click switch the light ON LOW and each following click will cycle between modes : L-M-H
You have to cycle through the 3 modes to switch the light OFF.
So the modes sequence is : OFF-L-M-H-OFF
A long click from ON gives you a STROBE mode.

The overall quality is really great, and it has already been stole by my wife to replace her old Olight I3E…

The only design flaw to me is the keyring hole, that I would have prefered better centered :

Thank you for reading !

Nice review and flashlight. :+1:

When our wives takes them, you know they are good

Great review, thanks for sharing!!

She’s very picky when it comes to flashlights.
The models that drew her attention were the Olight I3E (Red) and the Olight S2A (for her purse).

Thanks

You’re welcome
I’m sure this one drew your attention, isn’t it ?

Yes it has potential

Let me guess…
Fet driver, XP-L HI, 10440, Tritium, brass accent maybe and some black epoxy in the grooves ?

And maybe a lighted switch

Sure, there is too much empty space in those anyway
And how could anyone live without lighted switch in his hundredth flashlight hmm ?
