FS: Copper "BIG RET" S2+ triple heatsinks [Closed]

bump

Added Z1 heatsinks to OP.

Next will be the batch of ~30 retaining ring triple heatsinks. The screw style heatsinks will be seeing a return, with more screws and slightly tighter pockets.

I look forward to the return of these S2+ sinks.

These are very cool designs, if the screw retention versions (both regular and for triples) are ever in production again I’m interested

Waiting with open wallet for the screw type triple sinks. Would love to see a screw type or retaining ring type quad P60 drop in shell as well. If you open that webstore, I may spend to much.

Yep, they are all good… but the screw retention is far & beyond my favorite. :+1:

Teacher, gotta agree with you. I love it for use with densely populated 2 sided drivers.

Exactly mattlward. :+1:

I still have one from the last batch, no it’s not for sale, that I saved for me. They are true works of art.

I am going to do another run of triple s2+ heatsinks, with slightly more thread tolerance to avoid fitment issues.

I have a new design concept that uses a large retaining ring with 20mm OD and .630” ID that can be used with 2 sided drivers like the the H17F. There’s enough thread clearance to make this work. The retaining ring itself will be used to tighten the heatsink into the light rather than slots cut in the copper. It will have more than just two retaining ring holes in it in case you slip and jack it up.

Does this sound like a good all purpose solution? I still have to test this concept but I will be cutting it tomorrow.

I already have these rings because I had to design and make them for a clients custom heatsinks. Well, not the exact ring but very close. It’ll look more or less like this:

Sounds like a great plan to me

can this be used with an OSLON WHITE/BLACK LED?

Looks great Hoop, using the retaining ring holes to thread the pill in makes sense but what about removal?

It’s a triple heatsink, though I have a program for singles also. The white flats should work with this kind of setup but not the black flats. Black flats are basically obsolete now though.

Good thinking Dale. There will need to be a provision inside of the pill which will allow it to be turned out. The ret ring would unscrew, then the driver turned sideways, then removed via inside provision.

Yippie

They are truly works of art and I am glad that you are offering them again.

I will be in for a couple.

Bob

I like it!! :+1:

If there is to be a ‘purchase list’, please put me on it.

Like! Please put me on the list.

How about a Cometa copper pill? Recently there have been sold quite many so the demand should not be bad.

I made a duplicate copper pill for my Jaxman Z1 and made it a bit more robust, I think it really helped in the light I built it for and it needed all it could get as I had an SBT-70 in there making a lot of heat. Pretty straightforward build really, I don’t know how many Hoop would sell or if it’d be worth the programming time…

Edit: It was like this Hoop, whatcha think?

I made copper Z1 heatsinks. I think I sold maybe three of them. Still have a few. Cometa heatsinks would probably sell similarly.
