+1……………

I did that at work, thank goodness I was alone (I checked LOL). That and a few other of my personal work requirements takes the S42 down a notch.

The problem is S42 has 90cri version of 219c but D4 has 83cri version of 219c if I am not wrong.

Yes thats right the S42 was tested with CRI 90.
On paper the lamp is nice but when I want to use it it’s like a blunt knife it doesn’t cut anything. The UI is wrong and nerve-racking slow.
A long press to off is 2 seconds.

I carried it two days and it started in turbo in my pocket.
One way to avoid this is to set it to 4 modes. And then lock out.

And on the shelf the high CRI is pretty useless.

Not sure about that… Do you have a link to a review or test?

Thanks!
That’s the best news i hear about this light since it was launched…

Well at least I will get something out of my S42 that’s useful! Thanks for the info.

Received the replacement tube today, now I can at least fit batteries to the light. But, as many others have reported, the light still suffers from quite a few other shortcomings. At least BangGood probably have learned that QA/QC is important. Also sending preproduction samples to experts (from BLF) is a good way to avoid disaster.

Emisar D4 is what this light could have been…

QC like “lets stuff a battery in that thing”? :smiling_imp:

We are not asking for much…

This post is hilarious to me because I ran into the exact same scenario!

Luckily the situation wasn’t life threatening.

Luckily for me, mine just didn’t work and I got refunded. I may at some point take the thing to bits to see why it won’t switch on. Or I may use it as a paperweight.

Since i received a couple D4 (Nichia and XPL) i almost forgot about this S42 fiasco. It’s sitting somewhere behind a number of other lights on a shelf… Whenever i need a light i just DONT pick this one!

Thank you all for warning me off this light. It’s a very nice looking light, and that 90CRI looks great, but I feel that I made the right decision with the D4.

You did. I dont even use this light at all. Probably my worst flashlight purchase to date

Multicolor

Green and white is fluorescent

I’m wondering what to do with this light…

Is there another driver out there i could order and drop in with little fumbling? I guess the side switch wont help…
Could the hight CRI Nichia led board be transplanted to the D4?

For what?

There’s actually enough room in the head to put in a clicky switch in stead of the e-switch.
That way you could use any driver you want.
