BLF GT Proto. Review. Work in progress. update 6.8.17. Post 69. Run time test added.

Are there 8x18650 batteries there?

No - that's a shorty tube - 4x18650. Dunno if any long tubes got shipped. TA did't get his yet.

Whoa! 1.9kg with short tube.

Thanks for the pics, I kind of like the short tube look, hope they do offer it as an option…

There are rumors this might be an add-on option if things go well….just rumors mind you.

They could offer this short tube as an additional option AND fill it with 4 extra batteries when taking the final orders!
This could work well for those who need shipped in 2 parts and have a hard time to get batteries shipped other ways.
So would it be 8 cells inside the long tube and 4 inside the short one?

That is possible, I see no reason why that could not happen but all of that will have to be figured out much closer to when the GT is ready for shipment.

Can you post a pic next to a K60 or K70? We need beamshots please!!!

Nice! looking forward to the reviews.

Sorry Alex, l dont have either mentioned lights. The biggest light I have that has been purchased would be the original Defiant Super Thrower which is not in this league.
On a personal note I’d prefer the longer tube not that I have seen the light with it. It should balance the weight out a little better.
As far as adding weight I dont think it would add a great deal to it.

That is just amazing!
I can imagine that grin on your face and your wife’s reaction :sunglasses:
Almost 2 kg’s! This is one serious light
Cant wait to see more details and beamshots ofcourse!

Looks Awesome! Can you take full outer measurements and post in OP? I can't find them in the GT thread OP either - no outer head diameter #.

Thanks!!

Looking forward to seeing this tested with the long tube and two carriers, like the original design.

Oooooh! So close, I can almost touch it!

Hey Steve, can you measure the diameter of the battery tube at the threads? Wondering if the SD75 tube might fit??

Any requests I’ll try and do after work today. Approximately 9 hours time. :weary:
Edit. It would also be nice if anyone had suggestions on a carry bag for this light. Even for transport purposes to stop it getting damaged.

How about this one? Not sure if it would fit though…

Tool bag or plastic ammo can.

Would something like this be fitting?

134mm head OD
85mm fin OD at button
56mm battery tube
62mm battery cap OD
~315mm total length with long battery tube (ruler only goes to 305mm, guessing on the last 10)
