I generally donât like zoomies, but I did get a super-cheap Sipik clone (this ) awhile ago.
It isnât bad, especially for the price. (I think it was only a couple of bucks.) Youâre certainly not going to get 600 lumens on a AA; it is closer to 55 lumens on a AA. You can run it on a 14500 for higher output.
Itâs pretty small. Not as small as 1xAA lights like DQG or Zebralight. But, Iâd say itâs compact.
There are plenty of similar lights. Just look for Sipik or SK68 clones. Theyâll run off a AA for modest output, or a 14500 for higher output. Usually have 1-3 modes, depending on model. Theyâre cheap, so donât expect them to last a lifetime, but theyâre good for lights you might lose (or kids might lose).
Hello, Raccoon city,
In my opinion of most of cheap multi-modes AA LED flashlights, you can bypass âMultiple modes, disco modes or Next Mode Memory.â by parallel a resistor (~100K Ohm) on driver boardâs capacitor. Actually, resistor will discharge the capacitor very quick after turn OFF the light, so it will only turn ON in 1st mode.
Just remember to choose a flashlight will turn ON at highest for 1st mode.
Hope it helps.
The XTAR WK007 is a good AA zoomy. Has memory, and disco modes are hidden.
My review is here: Review WIP: XTAR WK007 (Zoom, AA/14500)
(Still need to finish runtime tests and outdoor beam shots).
Starts to significantly dim after 65mins on high using NiMH AA.
I donât know if the lumens specs are really accurateâŚbut, this seems to look a bit like what you want!
AA, just ON / OFF (at least no other indications of modes), zoom.
It sure does
Somehow, the âSecutiryIngâ (or Securitylng) seem to have some cool lights! Gotta take a look at them
I guess youâve noted but those from Ebay are 3 modes (eventually High-Low-Strove, as usualâŚ) .
The one I sent the link seems to be 1 mode only!
I sent a message to the seller asking if it is really just 1 mode and if it takes 14500 batteries as well!
When they answer me, Iâll let you know if you want it! :+1:
It surely takes more time to be delivered than those from Amazon or even Ebay, but if it does make the difference in terms of the UI, or qualityâŚI donât know if youâd be willing to give it a try
BTW, DavidEF, Iâll probably get one, depending on the sellerâs answer. If it is a 3 mode, Iâll pass :arrow_right:
I ordered 2 of those securitying zoomies from ebay, thanks for the tip. I think they may make good hosts, what is promising is that I see a standard tail with PCB and screw-in retaining ring.
