Home Depot Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

It’s true!

While scrounging around at Home Depots in Canada, I came across many many items that I have scored for a penny.
Here are the ones I noticed and snapped.
2 different items that look so much like each other that when one went to a penny and the other didn’t, the HD undertaker had a hard time telling them apart and I was able to score on each of them as they went to a penny.

about 2 weeks ago I found one of these for a penny

I found many of these. In Canada they were still at their full price of $6.98 Cdn

Likewise on this one. Price in Canada was at the “6” price of $1.86 That is a good price, but I already had enough.

Already pennied out in my area. Only found a couple, but this one is a recurring item. They come out every year, and every year they go to a penny. I found some a couple of years ago also.

These pennied out although I never scored one at that price. I did buy some at $1.42. I used this light to make
“My XHP-70 ”Sleeper Light” Mod”:My XHP-70 "Sleeper Light" Mod
Back then I paid full list price in the U.S. of $5.25

This is the ArmourMax 3D flashlight. It is huge and I bought a lot of them at $7.53. It did penny out and I did get a couple then too.
The date on this Canadian price tag is 30 June 2016, I thought for sure it would ring up for much less. But it didn’t :weary:

Got one of these in Ohio for a penny.

These recently went to a penny around here and I found quite a few. They actually fit the Harbor Freight paint guns I have.

Here are a whole bunch of the Bosch GLM 10X’s that went to a penny. In Canada they are reduced to $25.00

That 432 piece Husky tool set that my buddy caught at $100.03 and is only marked down to $349.00 from $399.00 in most other Home Depots is still full price in Canada.

These next pictures have nothing to do with pricing, they are pictures of my favorite multi function screw drivers. They are not sold at Home Depot in my area, but in Canada they were prominently displayed in every store I went to.
They are made in Canada. Super, high quality :+1:

Now, just so everyone doesn’t think I spent the whole time we were in Canada inside of Home Depots.
Some shots of a couple of interesting things I saw.
Artwork made from street lights.

And here is something NOT related lights.
Most people from Canada would know what that is.

Not most but it is a huge tourist attraction.
Did you do any of the museums, the museum of civilization is one of my favourites

BTW your HD picture collection must be huge!

While we were in Canada for Canada 150, we went to a special, temporary botanical exhibit.

There were lots of workers trimming these figures with a tool I had never seen before.

Later, about a week after we returned, we were over a friends home for dinner. They have a beautiful yard and are really into gardening.
When they heard about the exhibition in Canada, they actually asked to see our vacation pictures
When the pictures of this Makita shears came up, everyone agreed that was quite a tool.
Well, 2 days later when I got home there was one delivered to our house. My wife noticed the great enthusiasm I expressed for it at the party and decided I should have one.

Those blades are razor sharp and would probably take a finger off.
Good thing I still have extra Husky bags, it didn’t come with one.

Just some intersting deals I saw locally a couple of days ago.

An LED Black Light. Price was too high for me just to play around with, $14.97

GE is calling what I think are high CRI bulbs, “High Defintion” lights. From a marketing perspective, it could connect with consumers better than “High CRI”

Here are some “U” bent LED’s to replace the “U” bent florescents. On clearance for $3.83 each! Cheap.

I didn’t need these, but for $3.52 for a pair, I bought a package to play around with. One bulb capable of Soft White, Daylight or a warm glow. Turning the switch on and off quickly changes the modes.

These are light fixtures that screw into a porcelain light fixture as though it were a bulb. Very easy way to upgrade.

Sign of the times. A 10 pack of 4’ florescents for $7.83. I picked up 6 cases for a friend.

And this one was at Lowes. I REALLY thought I scored a deal. 2 - 175W Mercury Vapor Lamps for $2.50. But no, it was the right sized bulb, but my fixtures take High pressure Sodium. They regularly go for about $26 each and they still are.
I had to bring them back

A whole display of HDMI cables on clearance at the “2” price, 75% off.

All of these that is except for the 9’ Premiums in the center marked at $28.00

They went for a penny.

Awesome posts dchomak. Thank you for sharing your Canada trip and deal finds. Good stuff for sure.

Was the $28.“00” price a clue—what was the date on the HDMI cables, and also how did you know or suspect they would go for a penny?

I knew because I found some at another store 5 miles away earlier that week. They also were marked at $28.00 and went for a penny. For some reason those 2 stores missed all the markdowns on the 9’ Premiums cables.

Today all of them are gone. The rest must have went to a penny and the either got pulled, or someone else scored big time. (It wasn’t me)

I never made it Ottawa this year, its a big regret :frowning:
Those do look like awesome shears

Bosch glm 40 down to .04 price

I saw them, $75.04?

14.04

There were none left someone beat me to them

I was actually thinking of some other one. It is actually $75.06 right now.
I look for them and get a pic

Glm40x

Here are some random deals I have come across over the past few days.
Today this $60 combination bottle jack and stand went to $15.02

This $100, 12v jack and tire inflator went to $25.03. Plug it into 12V and it can jack up my van.

This $189 wet tile saw went to $95.04 at some stores. I am trying to catch one at the “2” price of around $47.52

other stuff

This LED contains a photocell to turn in on and off at night. It’s marked at $4.54 but rings up for $2.32

3 packages of 4 packs of daylight bulbs. They look the same, but the 8W and 8.5W bulbs ring up for a penny.

These 3 packages of 4 soft white bulbs each look the same too, but the 8.5W bulbs ring up for a penny

LED shop lights are getting cheaper all the time!
This 3’, 3100 Lumen light is only $14.97

This 4’ Stereo Bluetooth Shoplite is $60. Play music through the stereo speakers, one at each end.
(It sounds terrible)

This is not Home Depot, I found these LED shop lites at Menards, a mid western chain similar to HD.
Just more proof that LED shop lights are getting more reasonable. $20

This 10 pack of T12 Daylight bulbs was a penny.

DeWalt drill, 2 batteries, charger and carry bag for $99

Thanks for the alerts dcho. They had some 18v Makita (spelling?) drill/impact combo packs on clearance at $85 at the Harbinson Blvd HD in Columbia, SC on sale for $85 (normally $170). It includes 2Ah battery packs and a charger in it. I don't know much about Makita quality, but it seems like a good deal.

They had some great deals on various extension cords, but they were all gone. Sorry, didn't have time to take an pics.

,^
That’s a GREAT deal. I had noticed those on the way down in price and so far the cheapest around here is $119

^

The kit doesn't seem to be shown in inventory, but there were about 7 of them in the clearance rack. Pretty sure it was this product:
