Compact 1xAA Zoomies

Here's the same flashlight on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/SecurityIng-Zoomable-Waterproof-Adjustable-Flashlight/dp/B010UQDP0A

Good for those in the U.S.

raccoon, are you going to get one of those? I’m interested in knowing if it’s a decent quality host or not.

I probably will the next time I order something from Amazon, but I don't know when that will be.

And here's the flashlight on eBay...

From China:

From Kentucky:

EDIT: Should I pay an extra $2 to get it from the U.S.?

UPDATE: I made an offer on the China auction.

It sure does
Somehow, the “SecutiryIng” (or Securitylng) seem to have some cool lights! Gotta take a look at them

I guess you’ve noted but those from Ebay are 3 modes (eventually High-Low-Strove, as usual…) .
The one I sent the link seems to be 1 mode only!
I sent a message to the seller asking if it is really just 1 mode and if it takes 14500 batteries as well!
When they answer me, I’ll let you know if you want it! :+1:

It surely takes more time to be delivered than those from Amazon or even Ebay, but if it does make the difference in terms of the UI, or quality…I don’t know if you’d be willing to give it a try

BTW, DavidEF, I’ll probably get one, depending on the seller’s answer. If it is a 3 mode, I’ll pass :arrow_right:

The sellers might be thinking that On/Off, Zoom In, and Zoom Out make three modes.

That's what I'm hoping.

Eheh, some really consider it as modes! So instead of 1 we get 3, instead of 3 we get 5

I ordered 2 of those securitying zoomies from ebay, thanks for the tip. I think they may make good hosts, what is promising is that I see a standard tail with PCB and screw-in retaining ring.

I have one of those Securitying AA zoomies. My impressions:

1. Anodizing is excellent. It’s a perfect matte black. the words “Securitying” are very crisp and clear. Looks much higher quality than the finish on a typical Sipik 68.
2. Overall shape of the light feels good. It’s a bit long for a AA light. Still usable, but defnitely not in the miniature category either.
3. It has a twist zoom rather than a push-pull. This makes the zoom harder to cycle with one-hand, but allows more waterproofing since the stiffer zoom can stay in place even against air pressure changes.
4. Been awhile since I looked inside, but my recollection was that the aluminum pill is very small. I think even a 15mm driver needed some filing at the edges to fit. I don’t recall if I had to also file the star down.

Is yours On/Off or High/Low/Strobe?

Hum, the twist zoom is not so fun, but no problem with that, though.
Does it have 1 or 3 modes?
Thanks for your input in this

Sounds good to me! Thanks Firelight2!

Hey, I received confirmation from the seller (my previous message). It only has On/Off and only takes AA battery, not 14500
I guess I’ll order one, just to try them! Maybe the host is nice, or maybe I’ll stick with the stock light

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

I'm confused.

Which seller is that?

Aliexpress?

Chinese products are of low quality

There are plenty of high quality products made in China.

You just have to do the research to find the diamonds in the rough.

Does anyone have experience with this Sipik clone? I never had a zoomie and wonder if it’s worth $2.29…

Yup, the one from the store I mentioned on post 14 (Compact 1xAA Zoomies - #14 by MascaratumB)!
Sorry, I made it confusing :person_facepalming:

Don't worry, it's not your fault.

By the way, I asked the China eBay seller what the 3 advertised modes were, and have yet to receive a reply.
