I just received my first order from MTN and I am just really impressed with the quality of that L2 host. To be honest I bought the scratch and dent version and I don’t think anyone would know if I had said it was one of the first quality lights. I had to look at it for a bit and finally found 1 scratch on one of the fins on the head. The only thing I would suggest is throw in a couple screws to screw down the MCPCB with. But if that is all I have to worry about we are all good. Thanks a lot!
My apologies the screws had just really gotten hidden in the package. along with 2 centering rings and an extra spring. Thank you.
Has anyone offered to do any flashing of the first batch of D4’s…?
I bought 3 of the 1st batch and not quit up to flashing skill level so just wondering if there’s been any offers, can pay cash for flash or barter…?
We will reflash them if you pay shipping. Flashing is easy, getting the driver out without breaking anything can be difficult. Are you sure that you got the first firmware? We only sent out a handful of lights with V1 firmware. Quite a few with what I would consider to be V1.9 firmware (newer thermal throttling, but for more uses it is as good as V2. If it blinks in the middle of the ramp then you do not have V1 firmware.
Hey Richard - any chance of getting a S2+ host in Desert Tan? I know you haven’t even gotten the fully built tan ones in yet, but figured I’d ask if there was any plan for a host-only version too. I need a tan triple…
Main difference I’ve noticed between V1.9 and V2.0 is that V1.9 has some bugs.
With my V1.9 light, I’ll start off in moonlight and after a second it will occasionally jump to max turbo…. not good if you happen to be staring into the emitters admiring the pretty tint. Don’t ask me how I know…. :smiling_imp:
I’ve also noticed that sometimes my V1.9 light will start in moonlight and then step up to a low brightness on its own even when not being touched.
In all other respects it functions just like V2.0. However, V2.0 is better because it has no bugs.
Yep. If that happens, then you can reset the prediction table by loosening the tailcap to remove power to the driver and it will temporarily reset the bug until you hit thermal protection again.
Just a heads up: we have more D4 that came in this morning and we are going to be finishing up testing in the next few hours, so look for them to hit the website later this evening.
