Anyone got experience with these?

My L6 arrived this week
Since the Black and gold Liitokala 26650’s still didnt arrive, and some laptop pulls do the job, but i dont trust my current measurements (20 cm standard hirschmann measuring wire, gave 2,6 A and dropped quickly to 2,4 and lower)
I thought, lets try these, since the efest is out of stock, and they can deliver fast to me

I don’t know about the “rarely” part, but yeah I do know a few things… the Shockli are a rewrapped Windyfire from what I can gather. I also know that you have to start somewhere, and you can’t discount every cells wrapper lingo just because there have been “miscue’s” in the past. I know everyone shuns Trustfire cells, but their 6,000 mAh 32650 is the best in the class. So perhaps common knowledge isn’t an across-the-board kind of thing?
I have both the sky blue LiitoKala and the new black ones, and I have an L6 with XHP-70.2 and FET driver… making 9,280.5 lumens at 18.16A on the new black LiitoKala cell. The blue ones do 16.48A for 9108 lumens. Surprising, yes?
FWIW, I’ve seen more than one light tested where one name brand cell gave higher amperage, while another name brand cell bests it in lumens output while having less current draw. So it’s not all about the exact numbers.
I also know that it really doesn’t make much difference in the end when you’re pulling 3.6C on the cells (3.6 x the capacity of the cell), the output will drop rapidly as the cells take the hit so the absolute max lumens simply won’t last long enough to really add it all up.
Edit: Another quirky little FWIW…. the Efest 20700 dark metallic purple cell yields 18.71A and 9,591 lumens in this light.
I suppose certain cells can draw the same amps, but do so with different levels of voltage sag. That 20700 you mention probably does 18.7 amps, but at a higher voltage so that’s why you see the higher lumen output.
This is a variable I had not thought of. This new dimension is very interesting.

Thanks.
Very nice performance. I wonder what kind of amp draw you’d get from the Shockli in an L6 with a fet driver with the 70.2?
Hi all,
Has anyone done a direct comparison type test of Convoys copper mcpcbs vs like sinkpad or noctigon? They seem very good, I’m just wandering if there is anything to be gained from one board to another. I see here in this pic there is some kind of a mask over the center pad…

We had some really heavy fog roll in Saturday night. Heavy fog looks amazing in the beam of a high powered light. :sunglasses:
I set my L6 on the patio and took a few pictures. You could see the water vapor swirling in the air like a micro-snowstorm.
I also had my Q8 prototype near the door so that one had to come out to play too.
Fun in the fog.

Simon of course. He has the side switch cover as well.

Or banggood or kaidomain. you need to look for 16mm diameter.

I think Simon is the only one with the translucent side switch if you wanted that.
He will give you a couple for free, just pay for shipping. Or if you buy something from his store, he will toss them in for free. He’s a good guy.

yeah he answered my PM earlier today, he offered me both translucent switches for convoy L6 i am going to order S2+ desert tan from him.

I finally got my convoy l6 in xhp70.2… very nice light, and heavy too…hot spot is big. The side switch is disabled… only tail switch…

Why would you only want tail switch operation? It’s very awkward to hold like that.
I find it much better to hold in the middle of the light and turn on/off, etc… using the side switch.

Well tailswitch is cheaper… according from the skylumen, tailswitch l6 is $150. Sideswitch is $170…
I got my l6 testing sample for $120… so I am happy with that… skylumen said this l6 is tough mod… it put out 6500 lumen and 135k lux…

My Black L6 is now doing 8,230 lumens @30 secs, and 195 kcd, with a XHP70.2 P2 3B, running NarsilM. At turn on, it does 9,100 lumens. It gets quite hot @30 seconds of course...
The side switch works great with smooth ramping.

That’s impressive lumens. I wish I had a lumen box/tube to measure mine.
Out of curiosity, what cells are you using and what amperage are you pulling?

Two LK's at 4.20V, one solder topped. Amps measured was 17.9A. Ideally, best if run with higher resistance cells - just too much amps, too much heat.
