That sounds amazing and no doubt adds to the occasion when you wear that special watch. Its not just the design/colour, but how kind of discrete it is for a TAG, as a package it makes for a very nice piece.
Speaking of old watches indeed, Glenn. I had to replace both batteries on mine (one for the digital display, another for the analog bands). Cost a pretty penny, but certainly worth it.
The 5028’s band is stainless, yes, but it has the problem of smell regardless: the links have a system that I’ve never seen, presumably for easy removal and placement, and they’re full of nooks and crannies on the inside where dead skin builds up with constant use. And lemme tell ya, it’s NOT easy to clean them.
I’m gonna let it soak on some soap-and-detergent solution tonight then scrub the entire band with an old toothbrush. Maybe it’ll do.
Got a 20mm nylon watch band for my Timex Expedition Crono from this eBay seller for $1.42 each. The quality is excellent, especially for the price. They come in 18mm as well. They’re available 4 different colors. I purchased 3 in brown, black, and green.
Not sure yet but not chrono, or a black dialed one. May not be over 40mm in size.
“Snow flake” looks very nice but I´m not really sure. No sure even if a new or used one but I think I still have plenty of time to think it
Some nice timepieces here.
I have always worn a watch, since my father gave his Seiko auto diver when I went into the Army in the early 80’s. I fell incapacitated in the middle of a 2 week field exercise, and it mysteriously disappeared in the medivac process.
My most recent acquisition:
Spinnaker Spence, 42mm, NH36, PVD case, Matte OD green dial, and 3mm thick water resistance treated leather band, along with a NATO strap. I took off the buckle and added a dual deployment clasp, because the strap is so thick & stiff.
Jack, I’m a simple, no-nonsense kind of guy. Saving money anyway I can is in my blood ever since I retired. BTW, so far I love it too. Time will tell if it lasts.
I received a Tritium watch I will be reviewing soon…a Carnival with day/date functions. Took it to Canada for a nice visit to the Rocky Mountains. Very impressed with it so far…kind of a new favorite…
I just received this $199 Tisell 40mm Pilot Type A watch from S. Korea. This is a very nice watch for the price. Miyota 9015, slighty domed sapphire with AR coating, heat threated blue hands and nice brushed SS 316L case. If you guys looking for a budget pilot type watch, this is the one to have. The accuracy is amazing on mine = +0.5s after a day.
