[PART 1] Official BLF GT Group Buy thread. Group buy officially closed! Lights shipping.

Man i am so confused with all these lists. All i know is im #251 lol

@ Mr. Scott
Just to be sure I understand correctly.
The first list in Post #3 is … the official purchase list??

Yes or No

Thank you…

I have been trying to keep up with all the posts in here but with all this talk of taxes, multiple payments, different shipping methods, cells bundling, short tubes and multiple lists I am totally confused as to what’s happening.

I am assuming it will all be explained and make sense in the PM we get sent but can I just clarify a few things for my own understanding to make sure I don’t stuff something up during the payment process.

1) We will get sent a PM to make a $14 payment via PayPal to Neal. In this payment we put our BLF name, address and spot on list. I assume the spot on the list is from the core list so for me it would be #82?
2) We will get sent another PM within a short period after making the $14 payment to pay for the rest. This period is yet to be confirmed
3) Where does the short tube, different shipping options etc. fit into all this? Will there be a cart system where we just add the extras before making the final payment?
4) Fortunately we don’t have to pay any import taxes on items <$1000 here so that is of no concern to me.

I apologise in advance if this has already all been explained somewhere, I did try to look but was unsuccessful.

Thanks!

@LSX,

From what I understand

1) Yes, yes, but you are #79 not #82, due to people before you wanting multiple lights/withdrawing. I believe the order is in The GT List.

2) Something like this, I believe they are trying to find a way to mass PM without having to individually contact everyone.

3) I believe we can somehow make a choice, either on a lumintop hosted page or otherwise? Otherwise this is just administrative and I’m sure Lumintop/the GT team will have a solution.

4)

I don’t believe there is a short tube option, maybe in the future.

You’ll specify shipping option in your paypal note. DHL or two separate boxes.

Thanks for asking, as I would also like to know.

Oh man, was really hoping for a short tube option. I love the short tube look, and as a complete playtoy, It seems like a waste to dedicate 8 cells for a light I wouldn’t need to last more than a night’s walk. For something so seemingly easy to produce, I really hope it will be offered as an option/at extra cost.

Unless they made the prototype short tubes on a manual lathe, (which is unlikely), it should be trivial for them to make more at a later date. I’d be very surprised if they aren’t made available eventually.

Yes thanks Mr Scott!
Sorted list is in and I will post it later.

The GT works with 4 or 8 cells, there is no need to allocate 8 cells.

A short tube is not planned, if I see how confusing it is now for a lot of people it seems best not to pursue it now for it would make things more confusing.

I totally understand it is all a bit strange, it grew complex finding solutions but the info is in the OP.

Your welcome. I am kinda in the same boat LSX is in.

I did not think there was to be accessories or choices… except batteries. But apparently I was wrong. :person_facepalming:

I see mention of hard case for $20, short tube for $10, & seems like something else I can’t remember atm. Sounds good though…. I was just confused it seems.
………
EDIT: Miller & I were posting at same time. I see there is no short tube. Thanks TM.

Is there mentioning of a hard case or short tube as options in the OP?
It shouldnt so if I accidentally added it resulting in confusion, let me know so I can delete it

No I saw it a few post back where the short tube was mengioned for $10, case for $20, 2 chargers for $50, and something else???
Maybe I ready the post wrong or something??? I don’t know atm…… :frowning:

This was it. Sure enough I had misread when I scanned over it.

I thought this was now being offered. My bad……

Edit…… Thank goodness it was a misread on my part. Didn’t want any of this stuff anyway & it might have delayed things to boot.

I see, apologies for adding to the confusion. There isnt any mention in the OP, but there are links to MRsDNF’s and DEL’s reviews of a short tubed version, which probably lead to my understanding that there will be such an option.

I understand it works with either/both cell carriers, but it just feels wrong to have so much wasted space in a portable device. Oh well, it is what it is, and hopefully such an option is presented in the future if it is not now.

Ah you mean the post below?
Just read ALL the text and same as with the OP, you’ll see there is much less reason for confusion then only reading the stuff you want or wish for

you see it wrong, it is not a wast of space, it is a feature that makes the cary more easy because of the balance being better AND a way to very easy double the runtimes if one wants/needs it

Yeah, I had got behind over the last couple of days and was just scanning over the off topic stuff and got that mixed up with the real. :person_facepalming:
I’ll be more careful next time…… my apologies for the confusion.

No problems

Old post, but i tried and made a successful dedome on XHP35 led on the first try. The led was some unknown bin and tint, cool white tho but not exact numbers. It all went very smooth and fast, 30 min or so in a hot nitro paint thinner.

So led swap is going to happen, i am sure that the gain will be not significant at all but we must keep the BLF spirit, mod everything you can to squeeze every last lumen/candela out of it

Simple answer: YES.

Complete answer: There is only one official list. The Miller keeps the official list in Post #1. The official list is kept in chronological order, based on order of request. The GT Team decided that to get this light into as many hands a possible, all 1st request for the GT would be honored before 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc requests for the GT. The list in Post #3 is ordered based on that decision, but is derived from the official list in Post #1. The list in Post #3 is not "official" until certified as official by a certifying official.
