Yea I see they are having a few problems. Maybe this is the delay for shipping them. Bad batch. Hopefully we get trouble free lights. They have 5 year warranty anyway and banggood is great.
Depends on the cost of the product, but yeah, very little. Same goes for any international country (including the US for me), which basically means anything I buy on-line may as well come with no warranty at all.
I figure I’m funding my own warranty program. If I bought stuff domestically (even if I could find it), it would cost about 2x as much as ordering on-line. The occasional dud is annoying, but it’s still worth it overall.
That’s my point of view as well. However, this is not applicable in the current situation in my opinion. If you receive a DX80 with issues, it is not that you have received a lemon; it is because the original product is (most likely) of poor quality. Sending it back to China is not going to make the product of a better quality. This means that if you get it back eventually, it still is very likely that you will have more issues in the near future. So how many times do you want to send it back before realising it’s not going to get any better?
If I was interested in this light, after reading the comments about quality issues, I would definitely wait until a production run of the light is thoroughly reviewed, before purchasing. I’d probably wait 2 or 3 months longer, to read about what kind of quality issues are popping up from users.
I do sometimes order lights that are on pre-release. But, they’re either from companies I trust with quality (like Zebralight), or are cheap lights that I’m willing to take a risk on. Mostly, I wait until a light’s been out for awhile, to see what the quality is like.
yeah me too, but after reading all that i decided to forget this light for the time being maybe someday i’ll get back to it. Imalent as a brand doesn’t shine in confident department at the moment.
Well I am working on the Q16 with CAD designers Thijsco19 and Cawi
I think Texas Ace is doing something with 6S6P config and he said they had to make a driver that is basically two drivers delivering 15A each so he wants to crack out 30A, sounds promising.
The Q16 is planned to be quad emitter (is it a “Q”light) with 26650/20700/18650 cells in 2S4P
16K lumens and active cooling to have it run on that as long as possible. We have not yet talked to DEL and Tom about the driver, but it already seems challenging.
X65, forget about? Will the flashlight that this topic thread is about put more light out there at 400 yards/meters? Or will any other flashlight on the horizon put more light at 400 yards/meters than the X65? If yes, let me know, and I will buy two, one for each hand.
