Imalent DX80 32000 lumen monster

I have been doing photos this afternoon, and this evening I have given a little turn with it. The low levels are sooo hight. Spec says that low is 120 lumen, but can not to be.

Where arrived at home i have done a fast test in the integrated sphere. Low, and the middle levels are really more higher than specified (a lot of). Hight is similar, and turbo is lower than specified, but it can to be because my IS its not calibrated to this lumens. In the next days i will make a correct test.

Imalent told me they tested the dx80 and got over 32,000 lumens. Will be interesting to see if that is true.

My Integrated Sphere is home made. I calibrate it whit Fenix Flashlight in a range of less 1 lumen to 4400 lumens. The diode that I´ve employee not capture the light in a totally linear (its curvilinear). So if 1X value are 100 lumens, then 10X are not exactly 1000 lumens. By means of statistic process I can estimate the lumens of flashlight whit a 1% error margin under 4400 lumens. Values more elevated can have higher margins of error. I can see that error margin its very low at around 10.000 lumens, but in this case, the model spec says 32000 lumens….

I will can not estimate exactly the turbo lumen. But in the tonight test i,ve see that its more powerfull that Acebeam X80 (spec = 25000 lumen, 22275 in my IS).

Tomorrow i will begin all Ansi test.

Exciting
How long does it give max?
Is continuous bright?

Tomorrow I will start all test

It is done when it is done

Where did you get yours, does it have problems like mentioned before?

I’ve heard that shaving the dome on the 70.2 doesn’t have the same effect as it does on the 70. You lose lumens but you don’t really gain distance. So most people prefer not to shave the 70.2.

Heheh

I’m so confused, goinggear.com posted a video 10 hours ago showing the DX80 lighting paper on fire, so I assume they received stock, and maiden666 has clearly received one. I have one preordered through gearbest and they have changed the shipping date a few days forward to 3-6 September. But Imalent have posted that they have a quality issue and need to delay orders for 20-30 days?

What are you confused about?

i´ve received it YESTERDAY. I have it less 24 hours. When i received the unit, a little hours later, imalent publish this message. I don’t understand.

I want to begin to make test today, but i´ve waiting a imalent response.

JasonWW:
Maybe re-read my post? Imalent are saying they can’t ship the DX80 to suppliers for another 20-30 days due to a quality issue, see post #270 with link to their statement from yesterday. But here we have a BLF member who has received one, and goinggear posted a video of one 10 hours ago, i.e after Imalents statement. Their statement is posted on CPF so appears to be about the DX80 in general and not a second batch. Gearbest meanwhile have updated the shipping date but only by 3 days. So my confusion is, are they all delayed or have some been shipped, what is the issue and should I be worried if mine gets shipped in the next few days, i.e is the issue only with a second batch or something? To add to the confusion, banggood have a statement on their product page saying that it is delayed until 25th of August, this was the first delay and I preordered less then a week ago thinking this issue was fixed and it would be shipped soon (although ordered from GB instead as prefer DHL). So Imalents statement from yesterday appears to be a new issue?

Maiden666, where did you order yours from?

^ Imalent is stating about the second batch. First batch was already sold out. So the light Maiden666 received should be from the first batch. On Chinese forum many people complain about problems with the DX80 (from the first batch). That’s probably why Imalent decided to change stuff of the second batch, hence the delay.

Ah, it seems you weren’t aware that the first batch had shipped out and already arrived to many customers. It was mostly to Asian locations. There have been numerous reports of problems and doa’s. So Imalent has stopped shipping and probably told GB and BG to not ship. Imalent are going to redesign the driver. So there’s probably going to be a long delay before the Rev 2 models are shipped out.

If yours gets shipped in a few days, I would be worried.

All I saw was it catching paper on fire. Lights with much less output can do that. So the DX80 better do it.

Was there anything about the halted production?

Wow. Sorry I bothered to waste space with a post in this thread. I realize other lights can catch paper on fire, just thought I'd post it for others to see if they hadn't.

No mention of production stoppage, just that they are in stock on Going Gear's website.

I believe I'll just stick to CPF from now on since I've been an active member there since 2005.

My Maglite can do that 9 years ago

i wonder if D4 can burn paper never tried that.
