What did you mod today?

No, those are nice 4000K 80 CRI XP-L2’s. I still have to find out if one just burned, or that the tight fit in the Carclo decapitated it. I can’t recall having put any pressure on the leds and once the legs of the optic are well in the holes there should hardly be any movement possible. Still got 2300 lumen out of the two remaining leds :person_facepalming:

I thought you were individually switching them on.

Fixed that for you.

Found 3 original Milwaukee 18V NiCd batteries in a recycle bin while visiting a buddy in CT. All were dead, under one volt. Housings are lightly used and really nice condition. Tried to charge them on the Milwaukee charger and one did not do anything but blink. Tried to Zap them back with 36V pulsing for a few seconds and then charged with my balance charger. One looked promising and showed 18V but after a couple days it was about 6V. Out of the 3 packs (45 cells) I may have 16 cells at 1.2V. Not really worth it to rebuild a pack with the old used cells.

Ordered 30 sub c Tenergy 2200mAh nicd cells and rebuilt 2 of the packs today.
Charged up on the balance charger and both holding at 20.3V.
I prefer to use the nicd’s in my 1/2in drive impact because they got more sack.
May build the last pack with some NiMh 3800mAh for the drill, screw gun, sawzall, etc.
In the past I have rebuilt one of the original 18V nicd packs with 4300mAh Nimh but it was a really tight fit, did get it done though.
Do have the M18 XC lithium packs but not a fan. Not impressed with the sack in the impact, overall runtime and just shutting off on low voltage.
Certainly won’t pay the $130 for a 9.0.
NiCd rebuilds cost me $32ea for the 15 cells in the pack. About the same cost of a cheapo 2000mAh that prolly has short lived 1500mAh cells.

Thank you TK

LOL,

A bit of fun with Djozz unlucky build :+1:

The yesterday finished VG10 triple Nichia Video:

Nice! I have a VG10 lying around for ages now, you remember me that I should do something nice with it

Just finished putting together a dedomed Sst-40 with a TA bistro driver in a Convoy C8. Man, this thing is a little beast! 158kcd and really, really bright! And this is before fine tuning the focus…

Decided to add a zoomie to my edc rotation. So I updated my i3 to fit in.
Dedomed xp-g2, blf a6 driver, eagletac gitd tailcap and a nice brown bake.

Put a recessed switch in the D4’s big brother too

Today it was raining so i was busy

There are 3 fixed voltages from PC power supply.
Adjustable is up to 32V 5A buck-boost (DPH3205) powered from the same PSU.

Binding posts and one 5.5×2.1mm connector on the rear are for powering DPH3205 from any DC 6-40V external power supply when I don’t have access to 250V AC.
Other 5.5×2.1mm connector is 12V out from PSU.

That looks a b.a. power supply, well done!

Thank you

I made a duplicate of the Titanium plate they put in my neck. I have a PDF document from the maker of the plate that lists a couple of dimensions, this let me size it based on the X-Ray of the actual plate itself. Never milled anything before, especially not on a lathe! Some of this was hand work, I thought it’d be somewhat easier on commercially pure grade 2, it wasn’t…

The very small slots I didn’t put in because my 2mm 4 flute bit wasn’t up to it. And I still should probably refine the “+” pattern windows, but that’s file work and I’m done today! :stuck_out_tongue:

I did it for a pocketable conversation starter. It weighs a mere 4 grams and isn’t as cut-out as the actual plate, so in reality the plate weighs even less than that. It’s 2.1mm thick, 1.5mm in the center, 18.4mm wide and 38mm long. This is an Xtend plate from Global Medical, made to be able to add an extension into the middle groove and the small slots are locators for this extension. (My Dr. is probably figuring more work will need to be done above the existing plate, hence, the add on style Xtend plate)

Their picture…. yeah yeah yeah, CNC machines rule! :stuck_out_tongue:

I modded a 1$ Skywolfeye Zoomie to UV 365nm LED

I’m Happy with the output

Lol a 3.7V LED with 700mA and only 35-60mW luminous intensity?

Any aerious LED puts out 700-800mW at that power

Even a cheap Epileds is better and cheaper

I didn’t use a nichia UV led before but the output of this led to me looks good and illuminates things well
I think that the “80mw” was a typo in the description, Maybe ?
Of course I looked for a nichia led but couldn’t find one unfortunately

That’s so metal.

You are now officially Too Metal To Headbang.
