No Ilike, I didn't win, you won. While not quite as good at throwing as the M3X, it's close enough that you will not notice the difference in actual use. The extra spill, extra modes, tailstand ability, battery life and lower cost/longer battery life overall of this light will probably move it to the top of your list. It's just easy to use and even the lowest mode of 10 lumens will really throw a beam a long way. Build quality and finish are excellent. I know it doesn't come with a holster but I think the Jog Strap would fit the bill. LOL
I have some Duracell 2450 batteries and they run longer than my eneloops. They are good batteries. I don't think they will recharge as many times as eneloops or stay charged on the shelf but they will work just fine for you. You did notice that the picture of the Duracell batteries you ordered were not the same didn't you? Two of them are 2450mAh and two packs are low shelf discharge. I don't know which ones you are going to get but you will probably want to keep the same batteries in your light and not mix them.
Anyway, congratulations on your new TK41. It good to know you finally saw the light. (No pun intended) When do you get it?
Yea I see what you mean on the batteries. Oh well I 'll use the lower shelf discharge in my camera and other devices. I did bid on 8 more of the 2450mah ones.

If you have a Costco near you or know anyone who does and has a membership, have them pick you up a 10 pack of eneloops. They are $19-$20 for 10 AA 2000mAh batteries. I have lots of AA NiMh batteries but I'm picking up an extra 10 pack or two of eneloops just to stash away for hard times. They last a long time. They won't hold as many mAh as Duracell or Powerex but they recharge 1500 times and they have low shelf discharge rate. They hold 75% of their charge after 3 years on the shelf. That pretty darn good in my book and worth having a few around just for that reason.
BTW: Don't be surprised if your new TK41 becomes your best and most used larger flashlight. It's a real joy to have on hand. You got a great price. Was that price including shipping?

I really don't know about those Sanyo batteries. I haven't heard or seen them. I would worry about them being fake unless I learned better.
Older type loops have 75% after 1 year, not 3.
The new ones do that for 5 years; model UTGB
I don't have any of the older ones. The ones that recharge for up to 1500 times are some of the newer ones. Not sure the difference between the B and The A model.
I have been testing different AA NiMh batteries. One of the biggest surprises I have found are some cheap batteries I bought from Harbor Freight.
I bought some listed at 2200mAh about 5 years ago. These are the Lime green ones made by Chicago Electric. I charged them up and they are working just fine. They are charging up to and sometimes just past 2200mAh.
Harbor Freight has replaced these with a battery called Thunderbolt Magnum. They sell 2200 and 2300 batteries. I bought them on sale about a month ago and I have been testing them. I paid $4.99 for a 4 pack. To my surprise, these batteries are holding 2200 to sometimes over 2500 mAh. They are burning just about as long as my Powerex 2700 batteries in my tests. I don't know how long they will last, how many times they will recharge or how long their shelf life is but at that price they are pretty good. They normally sell for $9.99 which isn't such a great deal but at $5 on sale it's pretty good.
Okay, here is the updated list:
HR-3UTG= 1000 cycles, has 85% left after 1 year
HR-3UTGA=1500 cycles, has 75% left after 3 years
HR-3UTGB=1800 cycles, has 70% left after 5 years
I was wrong by thinking that the 3UTGA had 75% left after only 1 year.. my mistake!
That must be 3 years.. (so, thats better than originally thought)

I've checked ebay and Amazon, no mention of a 3rd generation Eneloop battery that will charge 1800 times.
But lots of mentions of fake 1500 Eneloops.
I wasn't impressed with eneloops at first . . until I saw how long they stay charged and how less often I have to replace AA rechargeables.
Besides; they look way sexy in a battery holder.

I found some of the newest eneloops on ebay that charge 1800 times. They are in Japan and cost $35 for 8 batteries plus $15 for shipping. That's $50 for 8 batteries. I can buy 10 eneloops from costco for $20. I will never need to recharge them 1500 times anyway.
I may buy some of the Eneloops later on. But I believe the Duracells will serve my needs well. Like I said I like supporting the company that supports me. If they last me a year, I'll be happy. I'll just buy some more. I have always liked Duracell batteries. So did my dad. They make some of the best alkaline batteries in my opinion.
