Cheaper alternative to Peak Eiger Ultra X?

I have a Peak Eiger Ultra and I love this light. But as some configuration picks that I made were wrong, I’m looking to get another.
Nevertheless I find $75 (that’s what I paid for the previous one) for such a simple light shipped to me to be extreme. Communication problems that I’m having (over 2 weeks waiting for a reply and counting) discourage me further. So I’m looking for alternatives. Weirdly, I can’t find a single cheap flashlight that would be DD/QTC (I’m not interested in any other drive method really).
I thought about having a custom, but that’s even more expensive. I found a couple of similar US-made lights, but they are more expensive too.
Am I missing something?
Would it be hard to have another flashlight modded with QTC?

If it’s only AAA battery or Ni-Mh so take a look to Manker E02. Awesome flashlight!

It may be a fine light, but very different from what I’m looking for.

  1. 220 lm doesn’t make it. Pure direct drive XP-L W2 would do 1200 lm at the emitter. QTC will dim it somewhat, but I still expect 800+ OTF with a dedomed emitter.
  2. I love QTC UI. With smooth output regulation I can easily have as much light as I need. Never too bright, never too dim, never overly power-hungry.

That Peak Eiger Ultra X looks like a really cool light.

The reviews i have seen show the Peak Eiger Ultra X at around 425 lumens with the Li-on Battery. What kind of AAA size light makes 800 or 1200lm?

TnC Micro Lux Dragon does 1000 with XP-L HI. Eiger Ultra X does 425 with XP-G (1st gen).
But I’m not getting another Eiger after all because:

  1. Peak stopped replying to my e-mails (there was nothing but a question whether they’ll do the light mentioned above in them. And I asked not once, not 1000 times but 3).
  2. I got 10440 for my Eiger Ultra and it doesn’t work well. There’s no moon and overall very little regulation. Is it because of old QTC pill? I asked over 4 days ago, got no answer so far.
  3. Eiger is smaller than Emisar D4 18350. But not much smaller. And D4 does the EDC duty for me.

There sure doesn’t seem to be many options in this category.
Thanks for posting though, I didn’t know these little power houses existed.

I have a D4 myself which is pretty awesome, did you see the The FW3A BLF light. It looks like a really cool little light, but more similar to the D4.

I’ve seen it. I’d love a mix of FW3A and D4 really, that is D4, but a triple, not so overkill sturdy, but smaller and lighter.

Agro have you seen the Olight S1R?
I am just getting into this hobby so I am discovering lots of stuff, so you probably already know about these………but that form factor looks pretty appealing…very small and very bright (claimed 900lm)

I also see there is a similar cheaper light the “ON THE ROAD M3” (claimed 900lm but tests to about 650lm)

Not in person, though I’m aware of their existence. But I’m not really into 16340 sized lights. 18350 is just that tiny bit larger and provides both much more energy and power.
