Sofirn SF14 (AA/14500): Does anyone have it?

Earlier today (or yesterday… :person_facepalming: ) I was taking a look at some things in AliExpress (AE) and noticed that Sofirn has a new AA/14500 light, with 3 modes L-M-H. It is the model SF14.

Has anyone got it or ordered it?
Having bought a SF10 and having beaten their heads here on some threads and also in AE for a 3 mode light I was wondering how this one is.

I’ve bought some AA/14500 lights in the last months with another on the way (LT Tool AA), so despite I’m tented to get this one, I’d like to see some notes on it first…

Thanks in advance :+1:

I see they don’t offer the SF10 in neutral tint anymore, only cold tint… shame.

So this SF14 could fit the bill (or the SP10A which is a bit cheaper)

Hum, only seen the SP10A now!! :person_facepalming:
It’s a bit different in specs and UI, but seems nice as well! It looks like a shrinked SP32 in aspect!
For the SP10A I found some video reviews, but for the SF14 couldn’t find one. Gonna keep on searching
Thanks :+1:

Looks great and inexpensive. Does it features low voltage protection for li-ion?

The Jetbeam E10R is a terrific deal even when not on sale, by the way (has a tail magnet, too).

P.D.: the tint can be fixed with an emitter swap, usually quick and easy if you know how to solder or know someone who can do it for you. ;-)

Not much difference between SF10 and SF14 for me, so I just ordered a couple of SP10A for a change

According to the specs, both have Low Voltage Protection for Li-Ion and also Reverse Polarity Protection

Hum, the SF14 has no strobe and has a higher estimated output (600lm) against 500 lm in the SP10A, which also has strove on double tap. Not sure if he human eye is able those 100 lumens, but it is certainly a difference

Nevertheless, both seem better than the SP10, which I came to like, despite the H-M-L-FF mode! It is good to see that some manufacturers are attentive to what costumers say

Both the SF10A and the SF14 seem like improvements over the SF10 and SF12, at least if they updated the driver and had them better machined. But as far as Sofirn goes, even if I still think I have a place in my collection for AA/14500 flashlights, I’m not sure I’d be getting another one from them based on my experience with the latter 2

It seems it’s easy to mix them up, SF10, SP10A, SF12, SF14…

Now, in my opinion these small lights (despite not being perfect) offer amazing value for the price :+1:

If I’m not mistaken, only Jetbeam has a similar light in the same price range (10-15:money_mouth_face:, The Jet-1 MK

Other brand AA lights (Fenix, Olight, Nitecore, Klarus…) come at higher price.

Yup, they seem upgrades, not only in terms of UI but also in terms of brightness…Still, I now miss a Moonlight mode to start with in both versions

I’ve seen some reviews of the SP10A and it looks quite nice and bright. I have some concerns, though, regarding the safety of the side switch button, even needing 0.5s press to get the light ON and even if it always get on on Low.
That way, I would tend more to the SF14, that has tailswitch, higher High mode and no strobe !

BUT, I pre-ordered the Lumintoop Tool AA, that is pretty similar, in modes and output, to this SF14 :person_facepalming:

I guess you’re right about this! The other brands sell their similar lights in prices above Sofirn! The LT Tool AA is perhaps, the closest to this price range (with M4D M4X coupon, at least), as the other ramp up!

I may try one of these! BTW, on AliExpress, the SF14 price has dropped a bit (just checked)! :money_mouth_face:

Here’s k-wong’s review on the Sofirn SP10A: Review: Sofirn SP10A Best value AA/14500 for everyday carry? .

Sofirn sent me a SF 14 to give my opinion of. It is a great little EDC light . Very simple to use with no blinkies and only L,M,and high , starting on low every time. In comparison to my other AA/14500s , it is the brightest at 600 lumens (Jet 1 MK, Thorfire TG 06s, Sofirn SP 10 A and B.) It is the longest of them all by a small amount. My 52 x 14 mm protected Fenix 800 mah fits but that is probably the limit length wise . The start on low crowd will like this but no fire fly mode my be a negative to some. I find the low to be bright enough to navigate by with my oldish eyes. My 2 year old grand daughter is having a ball with it on low as I write.

My Sofirn collection has been growing by leaps and bounds as of lately. A C8F is on it’s way and I cant’t wait. I am really impressed with the SF36 for overall versatility out doors . A nice combination of flood and throw. Sofirn’s use of neutral tint emitters is a nice touch.

Customer service has been very responsive . My Sp10B had an issue and they sent me a new one , no questions asked. Their Aliexpress store agreed to throw in some insulating gaskets with my last order at no charge even though they are not on the menu .

Admittedly, I am an unabashed fan boy. Keep up the good work Sofirn.
