Cree XM-L's available soon

I ordered one yesterday. I don't have any light that would need or could even handle that kind of curent, but I figured it's the cheapest source of 7135s available. Remove the chips on the bottom and you're left with a 1.4A NANJ AK-47, plus four 7135s .

You can always try the Knipex-solution for P60 dropins, but I admit... it is a lot of work.

If you read my entire post, I do believe that is what I already tried to convey, but I definitely agree with you.

. http://www.kaidomain.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=1845 Not a 1A driver , Direct drive on High , SSC P7 and MC-E over 2A

I just hope the MX will be on at least a 16mm base ... 14mm would be better ..

I think the stars are all added by other parties. I've not seen anything that says Cree mounts them on stars.

BICBW. Have been before, will be again.

I'm a lot more interested in a new LED than I will ever be in a new bin. It may have its drawbacks, but until you get the light in your hands, who's to know?

Not a 1A driver , Direct drive on High , SSC P7 and MC-E over 2A

Really? What would you guess the other SOIC chip is for, the photos don't show the label?

No idea , but I have been using this driver for almost 2 years now , very versatile , Ive used it on everything , Cree XR-E , Diamond Dragons , SSC P4 , Luxeon K2 TFFC , XP-E , XP-G , MC-E , SSC P7 ..

I alway have this driver on hand ... http://www.kaidomain.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=1845

Agree of the first one.

The latter I have put in a MC-E plugin. It draws only 1 amp at the tail. I have ordered a 2.8 amps from an other vendor and cross my fingers.

2 Possibilities , faulty driver , or lousy LED .. I have a SSC P7 that only draws 1.2A , go figure ...

The KD 1845 driver , I tried one with a XP-G R5 a few days ago , and it pulled 2.2A at the tail , to much for the little XP-G ....

orgasm!

Cree XM-L T6 test from China : http://www.shoudian.com/thread-163941-1-1.html

With many picture!

someone needs to get these for us on 14mm and 16mm boards!!!!!

i dont see any

It looks like it is going to need MC-E P7 drivers to be worthwhile - still it'll handle 3A and give a ton of light there.

Think a P7 or MC-E dropin needs one of these transplanted into it to see how it does.

Hopefully the Hong Kong dealers will have them in quantity on stars by the end of Chinese New Year.

I'm thinking they will be a lot like MC-E's or P7's, just without the donut hole. Lots of flood and short battery life in a P60. If you want any throw you will need a bigger reflector and two 18650's powering it.

The latest on the CPF group buy was that Cutter would release 20mm stars first, followed soon by 14mm boards. So I'm hoping to build a XM-L P60 before Christmas, maybe with a custom-programmed UI.

Taken from Solarforce on Facebook

Solarforce Flashlight I got lots of email inquiry about the XM-L based dropins~i have read the spec of this led ~

Surely, this MUST be included in our upcoming projects~

If i got any news for this XM-L led~ NO matter, we will make it as a P60 size dropin, turbo head or a Larger size flashlight like Masterpeice or L1000

I will updated all of you here the soonest i can~^^

I was thinking more of the simplicity and reversibility of the mod if unsuccessful. I do have a not very well performing MC-E dropin from DX that can only do 4.2V and only does 270 lumens at best. An XM-L in that would have to be better with about the same life of a bit under an hour from an 18650. If that works out then I'll probably transplant the LED into my Aurora AK-P7 which does about 430 lumens but will be more fiddly to swap the LED.

I'll just get an empty drop-in and KD's version of the 2.8A Shiningbeam driver. Might even try a smooth reflector, though there's no way a generic drop-in is going to be optimized for this LED. Any good multi-mode 2.8A buck drivers? I have a 2x18650 host looking for a drop-in.

Apparently Cree is shipping samples ATM ...

Actual shipment of emitters [ officially ] 23Dec ... So ..... Also ATM cutter has 20mm bases , but no 14mm [ so I was told ] ...

Want to play , looks like 2011 ... Unless the North Koreans lose the plot , and WW3 starts ... Wont that be fun , its been a good 50 years since a world class conflict ...
