In my Opinion….
Lumintop is a relatively new manufacturer with one product that is a big hit, the Tool. They want another hit.
They’ve gotta be drooling at the even bigger hit that is the BLF-A6, the Greatest Light On the Planet under $50. (again my opinion)…(and it’s far under $50).
The FW3A has the potential to be at least as big a hit as the A6.
If Lumintop can pull this job off with correct quality, it will be a major feather in their cap and put them in the spotlight to stay.
It gives them incentive to do the job right and give the people what they want, and we win too. It’s a WIN for everybody!
My only comment on the light is that the name FW3A is a bit cumbersome. I say it needs a name. Does this sound good? Not TRY… TRI
BLF TRI
FW (guy who designed it I believe) 3 (number of emitters) A (for aluminum, denotes the material used)
I like it, short and to the point. I dont think I have once told anyone make and model of my flashlights in person at least lol
It could be almost as unfortunate as when Chevy tried to sell a car called “Nova” in countries where that translates to “no go”. Who wants a car which doesn’t go? Who wants a flashlight with triple malfunction?
Now the other way around: I know of an American TV-show with Burt Reynolds as Lt. Dan August. On German TV they called him Dan Blocker. When you go to a circus in Germany, there are always clowns. On top of the foodchain is the all white (clothes, make-up) Arlequine and on the other end is “der dumme August”. A character like Bozo. Just saying.
Not to mention once there was a car made in Poland that was called something like “your mother is a …” in Russia.
There’s a rumor that “Coca Cola” originally translated to “bite the wax tadpole” in Japan, until the company realized this and changed it slightly to mean “pleasure in the mouth”.
