Just another opinion here, but I didn’t much care for 319a’s under Carclo optics either. They’re beautiful under the big Ledil SS optics though.

I am looking for the 4 SS Ledil in 24mm after seeing your comment, thank you, and I can’t seem to find a cute 4 SS Ledil under 35mm or so, do you know if they are even available in 24mm for the D4 or am I just wasting time.
Thanks however for that information Emarkd, I was thinking of trying the 314’s under the Carclo 623 and see if a wider spot enhances the emitters characteristics and tint better than what Dale referred to and being he has a photographers eye I’m inclined to believe it didn’t look good at all assuming he was using the stock Carclo 621 as well.
Frankly not even sure why I’m even wanting to change anything, it’s certainly not necessary as I think all the beam profiles and tints look great on all the D4’s I bought,
I think it’s just that BLFer thing, If it looks great and works great, then lets fix it…?

I like the look of the 219 in the D4, the XP-L HI or XP-L2 should do well with it too.

Running a 24mm Optic it’s either Carclo or Khatod when it comes to quads. The Khatod is taller, might now work well with the D4. It does have a nicer spot though.

Wasn’t impressed with 319 under Carclo either and mine was DD Fet build. Regulated may have been different result.
Kinda quit there with them and didn’t try a Ledil. Thanks for that.

Thanks Dale

MTN Quad board with 219c 4000K in the D4 = AMAZING!

Would it be possible to get the D4 UI V2 (e switch) flashed onto a Moonlight Special linear driver? I would love to have a linear driver with this UI in an e-switch light. I believe the moonlight special is very similar to a FET+7135 driver, just has extra 7135’s on the second channel instead of the FET? If so, I would pick up 4 of them.

Also I would love to get this UI in a SRK V2 FET+7135 driver for my Supfire M6

Some members want to know if the gyrfalcon all-88 actually fit 8 of 26650… yes it fits and charge all of them at 1 amp… I don’t have to play with any setting, just insert the battery and it will automatically start charging at 1 amp… thanks mtnelectronics for the great charger.

Hi I have a stock d4 with xpl hi v3 6500k… is it easy to change the optics??

… when u check on them in a week, are they still charging

I see what you mean Dale about the Khatod might not work, it is slightly taller as you mentioned, like maybe double tall ha ha,
Also I don’t think Khatod makes a 24mm anymore, all I could find was only 25mm.
I think I’ll just try some UCL lenses, it seems that every light I’ve ever used those lenses in had some sort of increase in something or other, but with no box or means to measure anything coming OTF I’m not really sure what the improvement was but it was noticeable,
To my recollection the first light I ever tried one of those lenses in was a M24 Maxtoch and I could swear it increased the lumens but it might have just been my imagination, the beam did look noticeably better, so I’ll try a lens or two in these two new lights and see what happens.
I sure would really like to try and see if that 25mm Khatod would fit in the D4 might get increase in throw but really to me it looks sort of doubtful…

If you want a D4 with more throw, it’s probably best to get a D1 instead of messing with emitter domes and optics. It’s just not a throwy light.

Your absolutely right TK and really they throw much more than I’d have ever imagined, and do have 2 D1’s ordered, mostly just comments about nothing really, Thank you

The Carclo 24mm quad series would be pretty easy to swap in for a different beam profile, the Khatod optic would require pretty drastic modifications, probably the only real way to use the Khatod would be to machine a new bezel tall enough to handle the extra height.

My EDC Ti/Cu light has the Khatod and the beam is pretty impressive. Clicking it up to level 7 outside in search of a crittur making noise the illuminated area is pretty staggering. The D4 is also quite capable of surprising one in it’s output and coverage levels. I would think a 10623 (hope that’s right, the last 2 are the main important ones, it’s a spot optic with a diffuse surface, no cup in the external make) would be a nice swap. Maybe floodier with a more uniform output.

Will the D1S be available for pre-order with you guys like the D1 was? Any ETA for that?

See if you can get the D4 pocket clips they have on intl outdoor page too. Im sure plenty will add some to their next order
