Q8, PMS SEND TO THOSE WITH ISSUES BLF soda can light

I installed freshly charged 30Q’s with no change in non functional switch beacon leds.

2nd Q8 has one led brighter in the switch as the other, couldn’t care less to be honest
(that’s with 4 Q30 that are pretty low in charge now)

mp isn't the issue; tiny phone cameras don't have the light collection to take good pics of low light. They get better at faking it with long exposures and software motion compensation, but nothing beats actual lens area. You can't take good photos without enough photons. Still, they are nice shots.

Question for Banggood

Hey The Miller,

I actually bought the light through Aliexpress from Elfeland Outdoor Lighting Store. (Along with me about eleven other people placed an order through this site.)
I just read about the malfuncioning switch-led and the temporary halting of production.
Should I extend the Processing Time on my order on Aliexpress? Mine is at three days right now. If it reaches 0 my order wil automatically be cancelled and refunded.
As the customer I can extend the processing time for as long as I want, so the manufacturer has more time to ship to me.
With how many days should I extend the processing time, I’m not interested in a refund as I’m worried that the price will go up later.
I already bought 4pcs INR18650-30Q from Elfeland and the Liitokala Lii500 charger.

Thanks in advance for answering.
PS: I’m exited for this light, it’s actually my first real high lumen flashlight. Before I have only ever bought two Maglites (gave them to my parents) and a Trunite Ti3.

Greatings,
Gentletaurus

At work you have enough time to write 5 sentences with nothing in it except putting away my IMO justly concern as BS thank you very much, while you could spend 1 sentence on the problems that you had with your flashlight thereby putting my mind at ease concerning your intentions.

Teacher said a non properly solder of a wire. Lucky for us he has not fixed it so we wait for either pictures and if he cannot make the pictures we cannot examine this strange issue, so I will pay for shipping of his to Tom and one of Tom to Teacher.

Gentetaurus I would extend till 10/10 this is after the coming achinese festival so they can send it out if not send before.

Testing now with full 30q, the led no work. In my case no changes.

thanks!

Thank you.

According to flaky tracking # and with the grace of incompetent Danish customs and postal service ( in this case both handled by Danish postal )
Then i might take possession of my Q8 tomorrow

So i have been busy with my soldering iron on cells and a BEC for my RC hobby that had to get a little attention too.

Funny thing, while solder blobbing the LG cells it was a fair bit slower for my soldering iron to get some heat into the battery for a good solder as opposed to the Sony cells.
For sure my soldering iron was at full tilt when i soldered the LG cells first, so i can only assume there may be a difference in the thickness of that end cap i am soldering on.

Anyways things are good, and i look forward to lighting up Randers where i live, and i have the police station firmly in my sights, cuz they so often flash other people so i think its only fair to return the favor on the 2-3 guys that’s there on the station at night.

So many posts.

Everyone who is not happy - you realise you can just go to a local store and get a Nitecore TMxx for $$$ right if you don’t want to wait? Of course your going to pay 6x as much and have 1/6th of the fun

I can’t believe BLF members don’t have another light to use while they wait? :person_facepalming:
(most who are not in therapy probably ordered another 3 lights since page 439)

Miller - doing a great job there, I hope the referral thing is covering the bar bill for you and the rest of the team.

Its a $40 light from China that’s unique - it’s worth the wait - stopping to check if the switch assembly needs correction was the right idea IMHO - else BangGood is just going to get hit with PayPal claims then the whole thing turns bad for everyone. +1 for Thorfire for maintaining their reputation - they only have to look at Astrolux and the S42 to see how important this is in the long term.

I just hope Santa brings it - and any sooner is bonus :+1:

sparkyDK, that is some fancy charger you got there, wowsers
thanks for the kind words whitecitadel

Phew, finally managed to get through the recent updates.
It’s said that what got shipped is different from the last prototypes. I hope we’ll be able to avoid such issues in the future lights.
I fully support the decision to stop production I’ll gladly wait to get a better light, even though this feature doesn’t matter much to me.
The Team, thank you for your work. :+1:

Gentetaurus, are you saying that elfeland actually has some q8’s in stock. Or is it the same pay and wait and wait….zzzzzzz

So I took my tracking # from bg’s website and plugged it directly into FedEx website and got a result.

Track17 did not work.

Mine was delivered to California on the 15th and is expected to get to me on the 27th. So in my case the delay doesn’t seem to be BG but rather with fedex.

Go figure. 8 days from. China to CA and 12 days from CA to NY. I’m expecting that it will arrive before the 27th as it is in Minnesota now.

and from Local FedEx to USPS to your door will be 3 days.

It doesn’t really matter greatly when I receive mine either Bc. When I paid for mine I understood that I was buying them as a pre-order.

FedEx is definitely responsible for the slow delivery to the east coast. My lights were in LA for 2-3 days before even being picked up by FedEx even after having had the labels put on them. Now they’re traveling cross country and will take 10 days to do so. That’s extremely slow delivery service. But I assume that’s what was paid for by the shipper. I took free shipping so I’m really not complaining, it’s just an observation. I didn’t know that FedEx had bicycle express delivery.

I’d like to thank the design team for doing a great job on the lights and everyone else connected with them. The Miller you have the patience of Job. What a shame that Thorfire changed the design from the prototype to the finished product and minor problems have resulted from that. One really DOA light out of hundreds in users hands is pretty good. But even so, including the switch LED problems the failure rate is still only near 1. Of course we’ll know more after all of the 500 lights get into user hands. But I would expect it to be not higher than 2. Higher than anyone would like, but still not terrible.

For what it’s worth, I too ordered the light through Aliexpress from the Elfeland Outdoor Lighting Store.

I placed my order on Sept. 15th, and late yesterday got a notice that my light has shipped. Tracking is showing that it has departed the sorting center.
