Just got POUCH #3 from your link in the mail today. Fits the Q8 perfectly, the head of the MF01 is a bit of a tighter squeeze, but still gets through. I think the pouch is a perfect size for both lights.
Ilmatic:I’m very knew to the hobby (binge bought a bunch of lights) and have a question……After playing around with the MF01, I decided to go charge the cells, and when I put them in my Nitecore D4 charger, I noticed that 1 cell was at 3.37V, 2 cells were at 3.97V, and one cell was at 4.18V. Does that mean that the 4.18V cell did not have proper contact??
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
What cells are you using?
Can you measure volts? Put 2 cells in the carrier that are in series and see if you get 8 or so volts. Take those out and try the other 2 cells. Then do the same test on the other 2 slots in the battery carrier.
It’s possible one of your white safety rings is too high causing bad contact.
Tell us or show us what cells your using first.
Just to follow up, I removed all 4 plastic rings off the + ends and re-soldered the brass button tops. All is good now, discharge is even on the 4 30Qs. My ceiling bounce test also registered a 15% increase in output.
silicoon:Here it seems that the reputation of S41 S42 is bad, why?
The initial batch of S41 were, due to bad design, prone to shorts at the mounting screws for the LED board. Shorting a Li-Ion is no fun… Later batches have been quite OK.
The initial batch of S42 had a battery tube that was too short for basically all 18350:s on the market. The S42 is still plagued by a couple of bad design choices: like a horrible UI and a driver with cheap components that makes the light underperform badly.
Thank you :+1: I understood it well.
S41 is a countermeasure lot as though operation itself is no problem,XP-G 219B is both released with fever.
S42 I got battery damage :confounded: I got a countermeasure item from BG.
The UI is for sure.

And don’t forget the horrible beam profile and tint on the s42
I do not understand this well
S42 (219C) likes low fever.
I took some thermal images of this light. I don’t know how to post photos here but I posted on my Thermal gallery on Instagram.
I ran the light for 2 mins to see how hot it gets. Its about 56 Degrees C before it steps down. But the handle is never very hot, only the head of the light gets hot.
There are a few photos, so flick to the left to see the other shots.

If instagram gives you Web page links to the images, you can click the little orangish sunset button along the top of where you type. A window pops up. Paste the image address in there. Maybe choose 95% size, then OK. It will add the photo to your message.

As far as I can tell, this 2nd wave is for folks like me that got a code for the first round but by the time I got it and tried to use it, the first batch of lights was sold out and the light was on back order. Just waiting for the 2nd wave code (via PM) so I can buy one this time around

They haven’t really pushing this light to the limit yet.
It should handle 65 degrees ok
My convoy L6 get up to 70 degrees without and issues and it does get warm my hand have thick skin
Maybe we should make 2 Threads out of this - one interest list for the next ones, one discussion-Thread

Thanks for sharing Bruno28. One question, how come it doesn't capture its SS bezel temperature?

ah thanks for the heads up.
got my light today. phew finally. what a beautiful light makes my MT03 look plain this make me want another one. :Good quality overall and i do agree the box look nice definitely beat the box provided by Haikelite by some distance hahah….I think this flashlight deserves its full price.
it only has slight brightness variation on the emitters and that is only on low. i am not complaining it is barely there at least on my unit. Notice the top 6 emitters only just. The cons is now is exactly Noon nothing can beat the sun. cant wait for the dark.

Because it is too shiny, it reflects other things.
If you want the temperature from that, put a bit of coloured tape over it

Most of the non-contact temperature meters I have used don’t deal with shiny metal very well. It looks like his camera doesn’t either.
If you put a piece of masking tape on the bezel it will read properly.
Are you expecting the price for the second round of the group buy to change?
spring bypass is it worth doing on this light? anyone done that?
Interested in the 219c version.

Lexel did it on his review light. I can’t remember if he measured an improvement or not. Worth checking out.
