If I’m not mistaken, there is only one person reporting about 7000 lumens for the Nichia version. So I hope rizky’s measurement is more representative.
I did the ceiling bounce again MT03(650Lux) and MF01(808Lux) both on freshly charged 30Q so 25% difference compared to MT03. If my MT03 is making 8000L the MF01 in theory should be making 10K Lumens. Now if my MT03 is making true 9K lumens then the MF01 Nichia is making 11250Lumens the later seems more comparable to the given specs. But the lumens is droping rapidly on MF01 and can be as low as 15% gain over the MT03 in the first minutes or two.
this is not true, the springs on the review light are from bronze alloy and are fully compressed with brass button soldered to unprotected cells
so the windings short each other, no need for a bypass
on the production light the spacing is larger in the carrier so it fits as well high drain cells with PCB like Klarus and some other brands have
if you use unprotected cells in the production light a spring bypass should gain a little longer runtime as well as turbo longer availiable
if its done right nothing to loose by a proper spring bypass
I’ve only had a chance to try it out once, but to my eyes, my MF-01 Nichia has to be putting out at least 10k lumens at startup (maybe more). It’s plenty bright, although it is a little warmer than I expected for some reason. Overall, it’s a very nice light.
Yeah, that’s the post I remember. It’s the only actual number I remember hearing about. So you guys are thinking the Nichia version is doing closer to 10k or 11k?
No one knows if his light is working properly or how accurately his light meter reads neutral white lights.
I just received my nichia light and have only used it a little with protected cells. Compared to my 4000+ lumen mountain bike setup and my MT07 there’s no way its only making 7000 lumens. Judging by how slowly it’s heating up in turbo switching to good unprotected cells will bump up the output even more.
My light’s completely awesome, smaller and brighter than I was expecting.
There will be some changes made to the MF-01 driver, to eliminate uneven brightness issues that a handful users have experienced with the units. We need to address to it before we could resume MF-01 sale.
I feel that the driver could be the issue with my MF-01. The inital problem was uneveness in one bank, before becoming a continuous Turbo issue with the same bank. In very brief testing, I have been able to get it to operate as it initially did. However, after only one cycle through the modes, the bank returns to it’s current constant Turbo state.
So, my light’s issue does no appear to be grounding/shorting, as JasonWW speculated. Just a more extreme case of the driver issue.
I have yet to receive any further communication from BG. So, I continue to wait…and wait, and wait, and wait.
Forgive me, all. I’m really not trying to be a buzzkill on here. It’s just that it’s a little more than frustrating that after a week, my MF-01 still sits idle, and I still have no resolution for my light.
