BLF style 18650 1s thrower( poor mans Olight M2X)

Very nice and light light. It encourages people to step forward into modding art and it is probably best reflector thrower in this reflector size(diameter, depth, single 18650) in a world.

Thnx! It’s a really nice beginners mod light. Does not cost much and very rewarding in the end.

Nice work Geuzzz. :+1:

Did anybody find a good centering gasket? The stock one is crap in my opinion. Or are there any trick center it succesfully? The Reflektor always off-centers on the last steps of tightening. :frowning:

No answers? I am planning to build another one of these. Got the first one right, but after a lot of adjusting. A tighter centering ring would help a lot.

$12.77 on eBay, at least for the next 27 minutes:

(Back to $20 now…)

Much appreciated. Got one to cut my teeth with modding.

Centering gasket?

Yes I really tried with it… Ordered from Simon to… But no matter what I tried it did not looked nice to my eyes.

The best you can do for yourself is that you don’t use it at all… This is product of eyeballing:

A bit uneven spill from side to side is product of drilling reflector base with accu drill but the most important thing is perfect hotspot with 300+ kcd

Looks kind a warm towards green? Yeah baby! Because it is good old XP-G2 S4 2B inside :+1:

This is probably only reflector light beside Jacob A60 that I actually like.

Long live the Mitko!

Is there a copper pill that fits into this light?

Not that I know of. I have one unmodded at home, I can have a look at it.

If took the top rim of mine and added a large mcpcb, but the wires shorted.
So i want a copper or aluminium pill and use a smaller mcpcb with the wires more pretected.

Was measuring the throw on my D1s today (120kcd). I also tried my souponfire light (dedomed xml2-u4, Blf a6 driver, 24agw wires) and got 205kcd. Maybe could have got higher numbers with thicker wires, but I am still amazed by the potential of this budget light.

Hello,
could you advice, is better to use Manker 28mm MCPCB for a tight fit instead of Maxtoch 26mm MCPCB?

I’d go for the maxtoch.

Anyone know if these are still available anywhere? Looks like they are here:

But it doesn’t look easy to order. Guess I should I have ordered back when they were cheap and available. :person_facepalming:

I think there is no better reflector thrower than this Mitko super thrower, but only modded versions so if you are not up to the task don’t order them… And especially under 15$… For maxtoch fans this modded light will easily out throw your super duper factory maxtoches with 2x18650 cells when properly modded… That does not mean it is better light of course. We could also mod Maxtoches

Sorry to bring up this thread again, but did any of these replacement pills work with this light? I can’t decide whether to put in a 2mm white flat or sliced XHP50.2, then I thought if I could have multiple pills that would be great.

Don’t know about the T20 pill (could check) but the problem is not solved by it: for the reflector to focus a flat led well, it has to be completely flat on the MCPCB, and the reflector base is really wide. A 32mm MCPCB solves this (barely, it still needs bevelling of the reflector base to clear the solder blobs if I remember well) but then the top of the pill must be flat.

My strategy for working with this reflector has been to use copper tape to make very low profile contact extensions then cover with a thin translucent insulation gasket I got from Mtnelectronics. The reflector sits directly on the thin gasket. This has worked to get good enough focus for sliced XHP70.2 and dedomed XPL. But for the 2mm WF I’m currently trying to get to work I will need to remove a bit of reflector material to get it to sit a bit lower. A larger MCPCB would of course help but I’m working with what I have for now.

If anyone wants to buy one, I found this aliexpress link
