Q8, PMS SEND TO THOSE WITH ISSUES BLF soda can light

Nice….I also ordered on the 12th, but mine still shows “Backordered”. But maybe that means I am getting close.

Wowser! Impressive show Miguel_79. Thank you

Great comparisons Miguel_79
Can’t wait !

Uhm… Wow…

May have to get another one…

I recorded this tonight, Convoy BD06 from my car Vs Q8.

My BLF Q8 along with Samsung 30Q batteries arrived today.I went out for my nightly flashlight walk with my Nitecore MT16GT and now my Q8.I am hugely impressed with the Q8.Being able to slide up and down the brightness of the light is cool.It is just light a dimmer switch (only better).

The combination of flood and throw is like none other light I have. The throw is fantastic and it does not heat up like my Astrolux MF 01.It easily out throws the MF but the MF 01 lights the world.

The Q8 is now my light of choice when walking the trails at night because of the combination of flood and throw.

And I can reach BLF again! Yay!
Very hard though 9 of 10 attempts to do anything give me a “site cannot be reached” so slow response today if any.

Nice shots Miguel!

If people do not receive shipping email, relax, we slowly see people say their Q8 is shipped or labels printed, just do the good old “order and forget” there is not a lot of choice if one wants to keep the blood pressure down

When you go to 17Track, put in the YT tracking number, and see something be sides “label created or shipping info received” …. then you will know it has actually shipped. As in left the building & on the move.
Otherwise…. in most instances of those coming to the USA by way of SmartPost…. nothing has actually been shipped at all. Just a label has been created.

I got the same SHIPPED email yesterday & SHIPPED is what it says on the BG site. It means absolutely nothing until something starts showing on 17Track.

Not a complaint… just a run down of how it works & how it is.

Mine finally got here today. Had enough time to do preliminary cleaning (lots of small chunks of stuff in the battery tube and dirty threads). Only other minor thing was a few chips in the threads with bare aluminum showing. Indicator/Beacon switch lights are even and functioning so far. Output is a little low at around 5000lm at turn on with new wBT 30Q’s at 4.19v. Will definitely be bypassing springs and traces and giving it a more thorough cleaning when time allows. Hopefully hit 6k+ lm.

Great job y’all. :+1:

LOL, 5000 lumen still isn’t ‘a little low’ in my perception, but calling it that shows how fast the flashlight developments go!

I ordered my first Q8 late on sept 7 when preorder count was already in the 600s. Up to now it was backordered and now it has a “Contact customer” status… except nobody at BG tried to contact me and i get no response to my contact messages… I fear i’m gonna miss on the second batch and will have to wait even longer. Frog! :frowning:

/\… :frowning: ……/\

Anyone have a link to the SuperLube that’s best for our flashlights? There’s a bunch of types at Home Depot and I wanted to get the correct one.

Actually, if you guys could post links to your lube of choice that would be helpful. I don’t want to be off topic but I bet tons of new Q8 owners (like me) won’t have a clue what kind of lube to use.

Guess I should lube the rest of my lights, too. My Nitecores are beginning to make a gritty sound when I unscrew them.

Oh dang, I didn’t know there were different kinds.
I read about it on BLF, looked for it on AliExpress but got results quite sexually oriented (LOL)
Looked at Amazon fr and ordered the cheapest.

Yeah BLF DNS record went AWOL for a while there!

Is this your new strategy to keep the post count on the thread <1000/day?

Found a product that looks a bit like the no-ox-id :

Burndy P8A Oxide-Inhibiting Joint Compounds PENETROX

Just get the SuperLube Synthetic Grease that comes in a tube. Not the oil or spray. It comes in different size tubes.
I’ll get you a picture from HomeDepot & post it in a bit.
I use SuperLube on all my lights. I tried a few more expensive products but can’t tell a dimes worth of difference between them & SuperLube. SuperLube is much more economical for my money and works as well as the “best”.

This stuff works well. It’s teflon grease. It’s not as thick as Nyogel so it doesn’t artificially add resistance, but I’ve never found that to be an issue. Just clean the threads, slather on some grease, turn it to get everything worked in, then wipe off anything which squeezes out. If it ever gets dirty, repeat.

Below is your Home Depot link…

Another handy tip is get a small syringe from the pharmacy, take the plunger out, fill syringe with SuperLube, & reinstall plunger. It makes a handy dispenser. Add a large gauge needle & you can reach hard to acess areas on other projects also.

I have one ordered 8th, still backordered…
