I got my Nitecore TM38 and TM38 Lite this week. I’m impressed with both torches throwing distance. Measured a lux reading of 5300 and 5600 at a distance of 10 meters directly after switching them on with full charge Nitecore 3400 mAh batteries and the NBP68 HD battery pack . Purchased both torches from Gearbest. Nitecore TM38 was $270.99 with coupon (monstert) included and Nitecore TM38 Lite was $227.99 with coupon (ntldeal) included when I ordered it few weeks back. Noticed now the TM38 is selling now for $295.90 when using coupon code monstert and TM38 Lite for still the same.

I’m interested, hopefully this go round the cost is not 299.95 US for the TM38.

What is the difference between them?

No interest in the TM38 models
The TM28 is of interest though :+1:

Astrolux MF02 3,000 lumens 1,587 meters for $125.95
Nitecore TM38 Lite 1,800 lumens 1,400 meters $359.95
Nitecore TM38 1,800 lumens 1,400 meters $459.95

I understand Astrolux is a value brand and Nitecore is a more premium brand. However, why would anyone pay that much more for less performance (at least per manufacturer’s claims). Am I missing something?

To be honest I got both these flashlights. The real distance throw of the Astrolux is around 1250 meters and NOT the advertised 1587meters. For the Nitecore I measured1450 meter when switching on with full charge battery. Nitecore has got an OLED display screen to show battery strength, distance throw, lumens strength and so on. No need to remove batteries for charge also. For me the Nitecore beat the Astrolux by farrrrr.

I got the TM38 and the TM38 lite. TheTM38 using a battery pack. For my lite I’m using the Nitecore 3400 mAh protected batteries.

Thanks, mine are a little shorter than the nitecore batteries so they should work.

Yes indeed, I did also use Sony vtc6 batteries before.
