The bezel cooled
This is a 2 minute thing, cooling not counted, looks nice, even wife likes it
And it is from the proto, but I think it will look better on the black one, so might just swap it
Thanks
My brother picked up his Q8 from me today. I went over the operation. He loves it. Couldn’t believe how bright it is. His pink cells haven’t come in yet so he was using 18650s that he just happened to have on hand. As he was handling it he was saying that if an American manufacturer had made it they could ask $150 for it and it wouldn’t be out of line. He finds the $40 price incredible.
I forgot to tell him about the 1 or 2 blinks of the switch LEDs (7135/FET), so I just called him. He was going to call me to tell me that he looked into his well with it to check the level, this in daylight. He told me that he was able to see all the way to the bottom and no light he has ever had has been able to do that, again in full daylight. Now he’s waiting for night. He did tell me that, like any of us, he’s been handling it and looking it over. He is incredibly happy with the quality and the thought that went into the actual physical light itself and also the software. Basically with his description he told me that it’s a perfect light. He was totally impressed with the folks who were part of the effort.
Yet another VERY happy Q8 camper. But in his case quite literally a happy camper since he’s on his land but no house has been built yet. Handheld lights for him are very important since he’s in rural Maine. They have a small solar (PV) system but handheld lights are what he uses outdoors. Now he’s looking forward to getting the GT. I should probably tell him about the possible lantern BLF GB. He’s using something like “atomic lanterns” now.
Ok, ordered 4 of these, full set, for total of $85. The US/EU adapter thing is a bit sketchy there but looks ok from the pics. Should have ordered these weeks ago
