Idk the 402, like the analyzing stuff of the lii500
But yes next time I see a deal for it with adapter for ~8 I take one, can be good to have as spare.
Argh… screwed by the post office… My lights show delivered and I saw the postman drive by so they should have been in the mailbox. Nothing. Nada.
My mailperson messes up too. Packages delivered with the scan indicating the package never left the local post office… packages that show delivery and then show up the next day or by a neighbor… certifies mail being delivered to my box without the green signature card being signed and returned to the post office…. Very sad and irritating. I make a formal complaint for each event; but the situation does not seem to change. Extra sad when I can follow a tracking number from Russia, Germany, the UK, Asia, and see it finally arrive locally then have something go awry! Technology is only as good as the humans involved. I must add that I have not had a package actually never arrive for years.
Delivery confirmation is worthless in cases like this. It only shows the package was scanned & delivered…. not where.
That’s not exactly the whole story. We as USPS customers can’t see where the delivery was made, but the office can, at least in some cases. This has happened to me as well, says delivered but not to me.
When I went to the local office and explained the situation, a guy in the side room looked it up in the computer. Their GPS system showed the location of where the package was scanned “delivered”. It was accurate enough to show that it had been delivered to a mailbox in the other cluster of mailboxes in my townhouse complex. There are two clusters of boxes in the complex, and mine is on the east side, while the delivery was at the west side. So I guess he made a note for the carrier and it was rectified the next day.
All that just to say, that it does show where in some cases, but you’ll have to ask the local office.
That is good to know, thanks for sharing that.
They must have added that since my three packages several years ago.
3 Packages in less than a year, same carrier. .. She only lasted about a year. No problems before or since thank goodness.

Joey, I tend to use the new Rocket (XTAR SV2) the most, it shows a percentage of cell charge so it’s easy to see how much is left or what the status is. It also will charge 2 cells (it’s a 2 bay charger) at 2A, so charging the 26650’s or 32650’s is quicker.
Second to that I use the 4 bay XTAR XP4 at 1A for all 4 bays.

+1 to the Rocket… I have a couple. 2A is great!

My Q8 arrived today. I ran through the quick check and found no issues with mine at all. It’s much warmer than what I expected, but that’s not a bad thing…just wasn’t expecting that. Of course I’ll be performing the spring bypass among other things for better output, but out of the box, mine seems perfect…no imperfections or issues.
Good to see V2 arriving and being without obvious flaws!
My dad and brother are ecstatic so I have you and the rest of the Q8 team to thank.
And blame, as I’m now on the path to modding. It’s a fantastic light as-is but I’ll be trying my hand at spring bypassing thanks to Tom E’s posts in the Q8 modding thread.
According to tracking mine has took nearly 2 weeks to have not even left China yet
Had the itch to buy a new light and luckily stumbled across this (where have I been?) This will be my second BLF light and I had no hesitation forking out the money. The effort and dedication from the people behind developing these special editions lights pretty much guarantees I’m in for a treat! Ordered today and already posted Der brain me didn’t choose Priority Direct Mail for an extra $2. x2
Looks like I’m joining the order and forget brigade.

Really looking forward to the GT and FW3A now.
I think I saw somebody else who too started modding that is pretty cool!

I wonder if the first 500 all have reached their owners by new.
Not a chance, I will be lucky if I get it this month, not expecting it until mid November.I think I was number 516 but it shipped within a couple of days, is currently in Johannesburg where it can sit for up to 5 weeks judging by past experience.
I think that they are far enough to the side to clear any battery + contact, but are the new screws lower sitting than the brass ring?
Hi!
Sorry for the late reply. It is not much but they are a bit lower yes. 0.75mm if I have to guess
Upon checking in daylight I now found some damage/fabrication flaws ;-(
My first light was perfect in that aspect. think it screwed less smooth because of it too
And the bezel has a few milling errors/flaws where it has been cut out(no that is not a reflection. There are some deeper cuts in there)
Thanks rayman, it is reassuring that the new screws are still under ring-level. And those imperfections, well, it is still Thorfire making the Q8 for limited money, I’m actually happily surprised how little of those imperfections have been found until now.

PMs send to those with issues, please check.
If I have not missed anybody all with issues should have gotten a PM, if not, let me know. I am collecting the information so we can make haste with the solution(s).
PMs send to a few BLFers who helped a lot during the Q8 process. If the aff link results are in, I am going to ask SB to draw 14 numbers between 1 and 1730 for the little GAW as mentioned in the PM you all got with the code(s). Of course the winners and the end result of this will be published.
Got my 4 BLF Q8 yesterday from first batch. All seams to work and feels and look great,
The beacon led all seams to work. No damage to the lighs.
Some screws where damaged and and maybe some looks a little bit dirty but I think I can fix that. Giving 2 away and they are very happy about the lights.
I really like them and was somewhat smaller than I thought.
Bought some cheap chargers, but I have some better chargers for my self. The pouches are somewhat big but works. Sadly I didnt got my 16 Samsung 30Q batteris shipped from Banggood. So had to use some Sanyo 18650GA on some lights but they worked even if they are not button-top.
Thanks for all the work you have done with this great flashlight. Sadly I am going away so cant test them more……
Just for kicks and giggles. Remember when I said this in Post #5425?

Yes.
9. Warn Thorfire to expect well over 1,000 orders in a 24 hour period with all the orders wanted yesterday
I would say from the experience of many past group buys, that if Thorfire don’t figure on ~2000 lights (very nearly double the current list) selling within a week, they’ve made life difficult for themselves. Aside from everyone wanting their lights right now, some people will be buying more than they signed up for, (if you let them) and many more people will be asking to be added to the list after the sales begin.

I did a turbo temperature test. After 4-5 minutes I got an external temp reading of about 69 degrees C. I did the test to confirm that I had not accidentally disabled the turbo timer while changing the settings to my liking. So is this the typical temp I should have expected? I really can’t tell you if it stepped down visually because I did it with the light facing a white wall and after so many lumens is hard to tell if anything is really changing, I also do not know how quickly the timer drops output.

So what was the temperature you set it for? Your supposed to set the temperature you want it to stepdown at.
Why not 402?
..or Zanflare C4, too weak power supply?
I can't find it spelled out clearly anywhere. Can the Lii500 do all 4 cells at 1 amp charge simultaneously?
If so, that's a nice advantage for this price range.

Sorry grammarlovers, I am a real King Typo.
I’ve seen somebody mentioning $7.5 for it. I didn’t need it then, now I’m actively searching from time to time in hope such deal will return…
Until I get it a pair of $3.5-$4 Lii-202s will have to do.

Yea I noticed the rocket charger at Richards store. That 2A would be nice on some of my 26650s.
